iPhone 9to5Mac

Introduced in 2007 by Steve Jobs, iPhone is Apple’s flagship iOS device and easily its most popular product around the world. Software wise, it runs iOS and includes a large collection of mobile apps through the App Store.

Since its introduction, Apple has released at least one new phone every single year. In recent years, that has typically been in the fall. iPhones are sold through multiple retail channels including Apple Stores, cellular stores, Best Buy, and other major electronic retailers. iPhones can be bought with a single up front payment, financed through the iPhone Upgrade Program, or financed through a cellular carrier.

Apple’s smartphone has become much more than just a phone since its debut. The iPhone can act as your primary camera, music player, GPS device, email client, mobile banking system, messaging device, movie player, and much more.

Nano-texture look for less? Best matte screen protectors for iPhone, iPad, and MacBook

Using the iPad Pro with the nano-texture display reaffirmed my preference for anti-glare displays. Naturally, this made me want to nano-texture all the things.

While not all Apple products have nano-texture display options, you can get a lot of the way there with quality anti-glare matte screen protectors for any iPhone, iPad, and MacBook.

Apple may struggle to get clearance for Chinese RAM, even for Chinese iPhones

Apple may struggle to get clearance for Chinese RAM, even for Chinese iPhones | Photo shows an Apple Store in Beijing

We learned yesterday that Apple is trying to persuade the Trump administration to allow it to buy memory chips from two Chinese companies blacklisted by the Pentagon, CXMT and YMTC.

Apple previously sought permission from the Biden administration to do the same thing back in 2022, and that did not go well – despite promising to use the chips only for iPhones sold in China …

Upgrade your wired CarPlay with wireless for under $40

Do wireless CarPlay adapters actually work? Many years ago, I bought a new car that came with wired Apple CarPlay. I really wanted wireless CarPlay, but replacing the whole entertainment system didn’t make sense. Fortunately, there are popular solutions for turning standard CarPlay into wireless CarPlay, and they work with iOS 27 and Apple’s latest iPhones.

Hands-on: This case adds a customizable e-ink display to your iPhone [Video]

There are thousands, maybe even millions, of iPhone cases on the market. They come in all shapes, sizes, materials, and some are even multifunctional. But these days, it’s rare to see a case do something genuinely different and something that is more than just a gimmick. So when I saw the new XTREME E-Ink case, I knew I had to check this thing out. It claimed that you could instantly customize your case with any image, without needing batteries or a connection to your iPhone, and that it remained the same thickness as any other iPhone case you see today. After using this case, I can say that it has fully delivered and it’s awesome. Here is how it works.

iOS 27 basically turns your iPhone and AirPods into an Apple Watch at the gym

GymKit has been one of Apple Watch’s smartest fitness features since it launched in 2017. Tap your watch to compatible gym equipment, and Apple Watch shares your heart rate while the machine sends back metrics like distance, incline, pace, and calories.

With iOS 27, Apple is expanding that idea beyond Apple Watch. I tested the new GymKit on iPhone and AirPods Pro 3 ($179, reg. $249) experience with a GymKit-compatible treadmill. It basically gives you the Apple Watch GymKit workout tracking experience, just without the watch. This could be useful in a lot of scenarios.
