VIDEO: Chrome OS running on…an iPad

A hacker called Hexxeh has just uploaded this public service video for those of you out there who may have been wondering what it might be like to run Google’s ChromeOS on (gulp) your iPad?

Developed by Google, the Chrome OS runs on a variety of platforms, including both ARM and Intel-powered devices. The first Chrome OS netbooks are expected early next year. Announced on July 7, 2009, Chrome OS is set to have a publicly available stable release later this year.

If you are interested in actually trying to use ChromeOS on your iPad, Parallels offers a pretty compelling and less “hacky” option.  You are actually running a virtual machine over the network (which is a bit slower) but the get the same end result.  See video below:
