Zune Phone coming in June as well?
Some chatty character on Microsoft's Office 2010 Twitter account is espousing some pretty big words. The account seems legit because it is linked to directly from Microsoft's site.
- He/she is implying that a Zune Phone will be released close to Apple's new iPhone and the Palm Pre in June
- Says that Office 2010 will be "available" to Mac Users. Does that mean VM Available? AVMailable™
- Facebook and Twitter baked right into Word? Ugh. That doesn't seem necessary does it?
Any thoughts on this out there?

um wow. They just leaked their entire roadmap lol. I smell that someone is gonna seriously get fired lol?? Um...maybe they mean office for mac 2010 is finally gonna be released. I don't think they mean in a vm, I think they mean the native version. Pretty darn cool.
Err .. why should I wait to buy a Zune phone? When I know the iPhone will blow it out of the water ... I'll be buying the new "iPhone Video" as soon as it comes out :)
Facebook and Twitter integrated into Word? Are they *trying* to stop businesses updating?
That's what I was thinking. Productivity at the workplace will decrease even more xD
first things first. a ZunePhone? i can ask why. one of the first thoughts that came to my mind would be: new microsoft phone OS? i would highly doubt the previous Windows Mobile being put on something like that especially because i think of the Zune as a media player. I can also say that i believe it will probably look like the previous Zune player mockups with the touch screen and everything (IMO: looking very much like an iPhone). so new OS and microsofts iPhone? would this also mean using a microsoft product for something other than business? (excluding the Xbox systems)
Office 2010???? why another update. i mean sure the previous is going on 3 years old soon, but what more do we need?!?! personally it has taken some getting used to the new GUI interface of 07 and personally i love what they did to office 08 for my Mac, but what more? is this going to mean spending another 100+ dollars for yet another office suite? personally i like the idea of having twitter and other social networking into office mainly because i have Safari with FB open in the background anyway. built in support for social networking (meaning web browsing in office???) could possibly lead to web browsing which would be good for writing papers and such with using sources from the web (IMO at least). VM available: i would believe so especially because office specifically for Mac just came out in 08. i would like to hear more opinions, please POST!!! :) "Once you go Mac, you never go back" Early 2008 MBP 10.5.6

could this ZunePhone also be put on Verizon thus tempting people to switch from other companies (people upset with AT&T)??

I'll stick with a quality product that works, considering the Zune is wildly popular now.
I really think that whoever makes the product decisions for Microsoft needs some serious mental help. Or they are covert agents for Apple or another competitor.
As others have noted, the people behind officethemovie use Tweetie , which is available only for the Mac and the iPhone. Hilarious!
The twitter link on http://www.office2010themovie.com/ goes to http://twitter.com/office2010movie
I call bogus.
check the link again. It goes to the Twitter account in question
The account in your article is http://twitter.com/officethemovie
The official one is http://twitter.com/office2010movie which is linked to by http://www.office2010themovie.com/
Lots of "office", "2010", "the", and "movie", but the one in your article is totally bogus...
No Zune phone, but a Zune touch player is more than likely. A Zune phone would require Windows Mobile 7, they would not release it with 6.5. Recent rumors suggest a larger, higher res screen, OLED, and some interesting software tweaks. The iPod touch would have some real competition if the device is freed from the "Market Place."
Of course they would release it with Win Mobile 6.5. You or I wouldn't. Apple wouldn't. But "release it fast and fix it in a service pack" is Microsoft's modus operandi.
A lot of the industry is concerned about losing sales and a decline in their market position. And that means a lot of companies are starting to play the market with fake leaks.
Why fake leaks? The goal is to distort the public's perception of what the future marketplace might look like. Then, hopefully, some people will either defer their purchase with a competitor, or even consider other products.
We all know that there is a new iPhone headed this way in June, right? Where did those rumors come from? Likely from Apple's competitors. They want you to defer the purchase of ANY Apple product, in the hope that you'll discover their product. Once you own an iPhone, they don't care about you. But if you haven't bought an iPhone yet, they'll use any trick in the book to convince you that (1) a new iPhone is around the corner, so WAIT, AND (2) Another product will come out that is WAY better than the iPhone, AND (3) The iPhone is so full of flaws, you don't WANT one.
I'm sure there are Apple competitors that shill-post to 9to5. It's their job.
Check the account now... it says hes just a fanboy and in no way affiliated with microsoft.
LOL Zune phone.
No thanks. Failure before it was even thought of.
