Microsoft legal bans iPhone Windows Vista emulator...

Microsoft's legal team has struck down against an iPhone hacker who was developing and distributing software to emulate Vista on an iPhone.

The coder told ModMyiFone, "Due to a big fat legal letter that was sent from Microsoft, I will no longer be making/distributing Vista themes."

The developer was building software called VistaPerfection 2.0, software which hacks the user interface of the iPhone for the 'perfect' Vista experience. The software offers over 90 icons along with the Vista wallpaper, dock and on/off 'experience'.

It replaces the iPhone dock with Windows Vista style bar, while the WiFi icon, EDGE icon, and even the slide to unlock arrow were all to be Vista-themed as well.

heh..

I thought hackers are smart.. what is this plunker doing? why ugly vista on this beautiful device?

Enough its on that garbage called HTC and others... yuuuk.

Mico$oft are just pissed

Mico$oft are just pissed that somebody bet them to it

they were probably panning on doing exactly this look for their (iPhone killing) ZunePhone™

Bwhahahaahhah

in all seriousness though, even though I wouldn't touch windows even if you put a loaded gun to my head I kinda like how that picture looks

First of all, why on Earth

First of all, why on Earth would anyone ever want to make their iPhone look like a Microsoft product. Why? Again, why?

Secondly, if Microsoft is thinking for one minute that this would somehow take away from a supposed :iPhone killer: ZunePhone they can think again. They couldn't get a foothold in the mp3 player market, what makes them think for a second that throwing a phone into the mix is going to work?

Microsoft needs to realize that they are, have been. and always will be a day late and a dollar short. They should just stick to making money by selling in volume, because innovation clearly is not their middle name.

PS Why do I always have to enter the CAPTCHA 5 times before it sticks? Can you get a better one? This new one stinks. And yes, I'm "respecting upper/lower case".

nice

for once, m$ did a good job!
it kept that ugly thing away from a beatuful device!

A ha ha... what fresh hell is

A ha ha... what fresh hell is this? That is one hella fugly interface. As above, Microsoft did the world a favour. Poor guy.

Why would anyone want to run

Why would anyone want to run this Windows garbage on their iPhone. What a waste of perfectly good talent. Create a good iPhone app and people will buy it.

omg.

what I would have liked to see is a completely NEW sort of interface instead of the freaking visa.

They were concerned about liability...

...because people who looked at it were turning to stone.
