HAHA! great ad...love the one above too.

it's ironic because apple's been running these mac vs pc ads for years.

Compare the cost of doing a bare minimum ad that relies on dialog (cheap, plus effective) vs. an ad the spans the world, hiring celebrities, and copying off another ad's "I'm a PC" (expensive and debatably ineffective). Though I admit, the new PC ones are better than Seinfeld's...poor Jerry.

IMO, the reason Microsoft is investing so much in advertising is to "reinvent" their corporate image. And at this point, I think it's more about making Windows 7 better, instead of trying to fix Vista; at least it should be. But I always get a laugh out of these ads :)

I hope they make Windows 7 better than send those fixes to Vista. What about all the microsoft users that already invested in Vista (or a new computer with Vista). Free upgrades are better than the hassle of buying 7 and installing it. People may find it easier switching to Mac.

Microsoft is like Abercrombie & Fitch they sell you crap by advertising the crap.. And don't start with all this Mac fanatic stuff because I use windows and windows only.

yeah...A&F is crap...and yeah i do agree with what you mean through advertisements...

(out of irrelevance, i bought a jacket there last year; they're selling it AGAIN THIS YEAR, but at a price tag thats significantly higher; i paid $150 US for the same 'model' of a jacket, and now it's $200 US; same shiz)

Notice they said frustrating "PC users." The MS campaign tries to put faces on the "PC." But the Apple Campaign is trying to make it about the system.

Can I answer "Bullshit!"?
Twice not less...

Of course they said PC users !!!
What?, you just discovered that Hodgman is impersonating the Physical object "PC" and not the user? same goes for Long who's impersonating the physical object "Mac" and not the Mac user !!!
(93% of computer market runs Windows and Linux user base doesn't need Apple to tell them how Windows is and what the Unix Based [certified now] OSX can do for them)

Don't you see that MS is trying to bias the actual (now in Its 3rd year) "Get a Mac Campaign" pretending that Hodgman represent the "PC user" and Long the "Mac User", when It NEVER was the case, so telling that only "now" Apple campaign would start to make the whole thing about the system, is Pure Bullshit !

The Get a Mac is all about The Mac as "an OS with It dedicated Hardware" and vice versa (I invite you to re watch them all) and unless Microsoft haslatly built Computers (or sold billions and billions of cellphone), of course It's and always have been (for the Get a Mac campaign) about the System when Microsoft is refered to....

Worst =>
In Fact Microsoft is trying to catch up with Apple's "Switch" ad campaign from 2002 !!!
Which then involved "real life people" talking about their real life experience and about the product advertised and certainly not about the pride to "BE" a Mac or the shame to "have been" a PC, because no real living person is a Mac or a PC but simply People Using such kind of computer, aka "Mac user" and "PC user"

Shot memory and too little imagination is the burden of 95% of the Mankind

Technically I think he said 'frustrated PC users' not 'frustrating' but your point is excellent. The Devil is in the detail, Mac is about the system and the user experience with the system regardless of who uses it. And lets face it, with the growing market share, it looks like they don't need celebrity faces to sell the product(s)

Although it is nice to see that Apple is finally going places, it is sad to see that they're using the same tactics teenage girls use to ridicule unpopular girls. Given Apple's latest reaffirmation that Form > Function it is sad to be watching Apple turn into the new M$.

I love these ads.

im about sick of these ads... mashed up with campaign adds! too much... enough already. Personally i dont think vista is that bad. it runs nice for me, stable, works... whats missing?

it evens runs nice on my mac...

Mac is like McCain with its negative adds all the time.

how about you guys say something nice about your self instead of putting another companys down

I think the entirety of advertising is based around making other people look bad. Few ads actually focus on making themselves look good. Bakeries only ever seem to care about when they were established.

Advertising is pretty much evil by definition. Note how Google doesn't advertise itself.

Ok I just bought my first Mac. I actually bought it from a buddy that works for Microsoft lol. Anyway I work for the Geek Squad and after a long day of working on decrepit Windows machines I just needed something different.

I think apple is being really hard on Vista and playing on the general public's stupidity. When you find one of those "Vista Haters" and ask them what they don't like about it...most cant even mention ONE simple thing. I actually kind of like Vista. I find it pretty fast and stable. Sure they jacked quite a few idea from Apple and dressed them up as their own. We all know Microsoft is not very original.

I know these Vista machines are newer, but out in the field I see alot less Vista issues than I do XP issues. I mean besides the people that are pissed because they cant use that copy of Family Tree Maker they bought in 1996 on their new computer. Damn Vista! What do you mean I can use my bubblejet Canon?

As a n00b Apple user and someone who wants one of the new Macbook pro's I find it a bit odd how much Apple charges for their products. New Macbook for $2,000 or a $1400 PC With a Blueray drive. If I want to use OS X I guess I gotta pay the $2,000

That is another story for another day. Anyways my point is Vista is not that bad and Apple is far from perfect. They do have a great OS but I hate how they jack hardware prices to keep their niche market in tact. If Mac's were cheap I don't think the elitist Mac snobs would want them. What about us poor people that want a new mac?

I was lucky enough to score a first gen intel Macbook for $200.

Thanks for listening to my ADD rant.
