Digg founder Kevin Rose is at it once again, following his accurate prediction Apple would reveal the next steps in its digital music strategy at a special event on September 9.

 

Rose reckons Apple will introduce iTunes 8 and newly designed iPod touch and nano ranges at lower prices - and has now revealed a host of new information concerning iTunes 8.

"iTunes 8 includes Genius," Rose writes on his blog, "which makes playlists from songs in your library that go great together. Genius also includes Genius sidebar, which recommends music from the iTunes Store that you don’t already have.

"With iTunes 8, browse your artists and albums visually with the new Grid view; download your favorite TV shows in HD quality from the iTunes Store; sync your media with iPod nano (4th generation), iPod classic (2nd generation), and iPod touch (2nd generation); and enjoy a stunning new music visualizer."

Rose also adds, "the new iTunes 8.0 visualizations are really trippy - there is one with planet like objects wrapping around each other w/stars/light streams."

The news comes as some reports claim Apple will NOT announce its iTunes Unlimited music subscription service next week.

see i would be impressed by this if the online gossip hadnt pushed me to expect more lol

I HATE YOUR CAPTCHA they REALLY SUCK i have to try atleast three or four times before getting it

I can't think of anything less important than "trippy visualizations". I hope Apple has made some serious advances and the 9th brings some long overdue improvements in existing technology and infrastructure as well as logical migration of products (and maybe something really new!)

personally I think decent visualizations are long-overdue. Milkdrop has been around for donkeys years and when Im listening to music via my appleTV, I dont just want to have the album artwork flipping from one side of the screen to the next (so Im saying GIVE US VISUALIZATIONS ON appleTV TOO!)

Apple (and the studios) should look closely at this. At 99¢ its an impluse -- easier than even recording it. At $1.99 you think about it before leaping. Any higher, forget it.

Can be a rental at 99¢ -- no owning. I'd get rid of cable at this price.

Disappointing News!

How about trimming the sucker down and fixing the bugs before adding more lipstick to this pig of an application.

Don't get me wrong I use iTunes quite often to buy apps and music but it really needs to be trimmed.
