ugh lag.... now if only I could get android on a Verizon phone seeing as I won't be getting the iphone on verizon any time soon

You can get the unlocked version for $399 and pick whatever network you like. All according to the CEO (comment listed on Engadget).

The Verizon guy keeps on asking "can you hear me now?" because Verizon has such spotty quality that people can rarely hear him.

And the poor guy has hundreds of idle colleagues that just wanders around instead of, improving their network.

It's the Teddy Ruxpin of mobile smart phones:

I hear the same comments with the iPhone. "just unlock it and use any carrier you like"!

There are only two carriers in the US that use GSM. T-Mobile and AT&T. If you unlock this or the iPhone you only have one other carrier choice.

They will never work on Verizon or AllTel or Sprint because they use different technology.

So if you were going to unlock this android phone then might as well get the iPhone!

Fed up with Apple's attitude to iPhone App Store developers?

Love Google but the first G phone isn't that impressive. If I'd never seen or used the iPhone, perhaps I'd think differently but I'm ruined now. It's a bit like saying no to the BMW for 199 or yes to the Chevy at 179. Nothing against Google, Android is no doubt an awesome Mobile OS but it needs better hardware design. HTC you suck, Google should sue you for this atrocity!

This is exactly why I love Apple so much. They are the perfect blend of excellent software/hardware technology and artistic expression. Google needs Apple to make G2.

HTC phones were looking great until this one... it looks like a T Mobile sidekick
