iSight
I'm wondering doesn't matte glass affect quality of iSight camera? it's behind the glass, isn't?
type of new screen not mentioned
surprisingly, i couldn't find any statement regarding the new lcd they would install...
it says, they would be swithing the screen and the glass - but with what? same resolution? same color-depth? i.e. same quality of the screen?? nothing said about that.
They do not replace your
They do not replace your screen, they change the glass that covers it...
check out their description
sorry, maybe my english is simply not good enough, but this is the text from the techrestore.com homepage:

and it clearly says in the first sentence there is a replacement of the LCD screen, doesn't it?!?!?!?!
Glossy LCD
That is Correct.
What people fail to realize is that behind that glass is a glossy LCD panel as well, simply replacing the glass would not achieve much you would need to replace the LCD as well.
I would have to assume they
I would have to assume they are getting a core discount if they are replacing the LCD as well, because because $199 is not going to get you a new screen. Now I'm really curious as to how they are doing this at all....
Seriously?
A little bit of an over exaggeration on the glossy screen side in your image. My MacBook and iMac both have glossy screens and they are no where near that bad. I would be interested in seeing what is available though. Not sure it is worth 20% of the computer price though.
um...math skills
20% of $2000 is $400 is it not? Isn't this service only $200?
It says this is only
It says this is only available for 15" MacBook Pros, not MacBooks as the article seems to suggest.
can't someone just create a
can't someone just create a matte / antiglare screen film with a round cutout for the iSight?
What he said...
"can't someone just create a matte / antiglare screen film with a round cutout for the iSight?"
I'd buy it.
