iPhone Augmented Reality App Yells: "Lager, Lager, Lager"...
The great alcohol augmented reality experiment begins here, with inebriated lager drinkers given the tools they need to challenge their capacity to keep their iPhone with them, rather than lost in the pub.
What’s this? Well, Stella Artois, that’s what - or, more specifically, an iPhone app that offers US lager drinkers an augmented reality app which helps them find the nearest Stella-dealing pub or bar, all they need to do is shake their iPhone about when the thirst hits them.
The app will ship this week and helps users find nearby Stella bars from the brewer’s own 80,000 bar-strong database. It was developed by AcrossAir, which previously developed AR Apps Nearest Tube and Nearest Tweets applications.
You get shown the way to go (not home?) by a series of Stella Artois-logo emblazoned graphics superimposed on images of your surroundings captured by your iPhone’s camera.
