Sony rolling out iTunes plus
Let's just say we have a hunch on this one. Sony iTunes Plus high quality AAC files coming to the iTunes store in the next few weeks/months..same deal, 256kbit quality, no DRM.
Now when are they going to drop the "BMG"? We have no idea.

I don't know what "..same deal, $1.29, no DRM.." means, the iTunes Plus songs have been $0.99 for quite some time now...
when will they rename their company?
Bertelsmann sold their share...
No DRM means, that your e-mail-Adress is in the music-file. This is worse than DRM, e.g. you are loosing your "aac-player" and someone is putting your music-files in a filesharing-tool.
If you convert your files to *.mp3, conversion drops your e-mail address from the id-tags, so you are off the hook.
... to listen to my freshly bought music in the car - which isn't working with DRM.
Meh. It's rather easily removed. And if you aren't illegally sharing music with the world, you have nothing to be concerned about even if you left the email addy in there. No way on earth that's worse than DRM.
Great to hear this, but I'm guessing that if they're iTunes Plus it'll be only $0.99, seeing that hasn't been $1.29 since it first came out.
I dont see anything good coming from this.
Higher Quality tracks with no drm, sounds good to me.
Why would you worry about your email address being in the music track, unless you were gonna share the file!

So what exactly are we on to then?
That story was the original announcement of iTunes Plus. Are you that desperate to criticize?
I dont think they'll ever drop the BMG. The reasons for sticking around are best known to them.
socks5
I think this is a great step forward. I think the overall quality will increase.
