Blizzard of Snow Leopard torrents hit internets
One of our readers writes in to ask why we haven't been covering all of the new seeds of Snow Leopard hitting the torrents (with pict - above). We haven't really been keeping track of this but a quick search on one of the torrent sites does brings up a recent (the most recent?) release of Snow Leopard. For those out there who want to get a head start on next quarter's OS of choice, you know what to do...we guess.

its easy if you try
Imagine
Comes with free malware!
such as.... I mean if you're going to make claims like that you ought to back them up with SOMETHING...
If you know what you're doing, than there's little to worry about.
Of course I know nothing of what that is or how to do it, I don't even touch it with a 50 foot stick.
does it work ?
why no coverage? Maybe because it has nothing to do with booting OS X on commodity hardware. More people want to hear about EFI and cellular modems and inexpensive 3rd party hardware than crap like thoughts, rumors and honest speculation related to Apple.
Just dont go on any torrent sites or whatever. Just wait until its release, causeif you have a problem with your mac, dont go to the apple store to fix it!
load it on a VM
How? as far as i know, there is no virtual application that can run OS X. a while back, i did use PPC (pear pc) on a windows machine for Tiger before i switched to Mac, but VMWare Fusion i believe does not support an OS X virtual machine? I don't know if Parallels can because i don't run it, but if you have or know of something that can run Leopard or Snow Leopard (any release) then post a comment or email me. rewardone.com@gmail.com

I've reported one of the torrent links to Apple's Anti-Piracy Team-here's the response:
"Hello,
Thank you for contacting Apple. We will investigate and take appropriate action with regard to your report or inquiry to piracy@apple.com.
Please note that due to the high volume of e-mails we receive, unless we need additional information, you will not receive an update from us. However, please be assured that Apple takes software piracy and other types of intellectual property abuse very seriously. What is this snitches-R-us? Do you fell better now? Maybe a bigger boy.
Seriously do you think Apple is going to pursue "piracy" for people using an Alpha release seeded to developers? The reason it's released privately is to protect dumb users from using alpha software, not out of fear of it hurting future sales. Further it is not that 10.6 is super secert, it's because it's not supported by Apple, and they don't need the headache of users asking for support.... you wonder why their piracy team has an automated response like that... it's because of people like you.
nice work mr. rat. If they need your help to find this, they are in big trouble.
What a turd...I bet you were the one who took all the names in class.
With that build 4-Finger-Gestures (e.g. Expose) are working on my early MacBook Pro 2008 ... guess we will not see that feature in the final build for my 'old' machine :)
Does any of it honestly matter? When snow leopard does come out, ill a copy, but that is because I don't trust using the release i've seen online. I don't doubt it showing what it does, but I haven't heard anyone actually say it is faster in performance. I will just wait for the real deal because that release that is out is probably just some insider beta deal and i think the real release will probably have a lot more to it. So why would I waste hours of downloading and booting it through multiple programs so when I look at "about this mac" I can see 1.6.0. Its not worth wasting my time. Now I shall continue downloading music and videos from u Torrent.
A.A. is a dick!
well, i downloaded it, and it didn't contain any malware. It gives you 4 finger multitouch for the older mbp's early 2008, even though i hacked it in leopard. It also contains flash out of the box, pretty nice i guess, finder isn't very stable, half the preference panes are still in 32 bit, furthermore not all the applications are in 64-bit yet. Also, updating it in snow leopard doesn't seem to do anything because it didn't start downloading the latest version. Furthermore the theme is changed very slightly, and that's mostly it. It's also faster than leopard if, but will be even faster since not everything is 64bit yet, and can take advantage of that.
