News around the web is that September 9th is the iPod Nano Rainbow/iPod Touch GPS launch day. September 9th is my birthday, so I can buy that.. But what about MacBooks? Apple doesn't really mix iPod and Mac launches at least not in the last few years. Additionally, we've heard LATE September is when we'll we'll see the new MacBook/Pros. Is it possible that Apple will have two events in September?
As always these things can get bumped around due to many things including parts availabilities and...ahem...software quality assurance.

So my guess would be september 9 on the iPods and sept 17-20 on the macbooks at the Apple Expo, worldwide rollout. What do you think?

Seems to me that Apple needs to revamp the notebook line first the ipods got a fairly recent refresh. Don't you think that it'll be more logical from them to launch the books first followed by the pods? Just a thought...

A few people had held off especially. And I was thinking, these guys need to worry more about spelling and grammar than touch-screen iPods.

Seems like they always come out with the new iPods in the last week of the Back to School sale, which ends 9/15. So I always advise people if they can wait, to buy their new MacBook then and get a new iPod free. Seems to work for each of the last 2-3 years.

The point of the BTS is to get rid of stock, after all, in time for the new product release. And also so people can snicker at and mock those poor students humiliated when they show up to school with last month's iPod.
But if you have examples of people tricking Apple into giving them the newest model free in the last week before Sept 15, then I'm afraid those folks are lying to you. Or you're making assumptions about how their experience went without checking with them.
