Apple September: New iPod nano, iTunes 8, cheaper touch and Blu-ray?
Digg’s Kevin Rose has kicked in with his latest pre-Apple announcement rumours.
- Curved iPod nano with horizontal screen
- Price cuts and revamps across iPod range
- iPod touch gets small changes, but gains software 2.1 as standard (no need to pay for that upgrade).
- iPod range to use price to differentiate from iPhone
- iTunes 8 (big update, new features - subscription services anyone?)
- Blu-Ray soon in OS X 10.5.6
Watch what he has to say after the break.

nice nano .. add that with nike+ and nice show .. daaayum
Apple especially needs to get support for Blu-Ray. That is one thing Adobe still has over Apple in the video department. Also, I really hope they drop the price on the Macbook line come September so I will not have to settle for my mother getting a PC notebook.
Boy, I hope they DO NOT use a curved screen like that!
I am a mechanical engineer for consumer medical products, and twice our marketing group demanded a curved screen on a new design. Twice we got TONS of customer complaints about reflections interfering with viewing.
You can see it in the photo from this article. If you have a curved screen, you WILL have reflections, NO MATTER WHAT, unless you are in a completely dark room.
Big mistake if true.
Exactly what struck me looking at it. :( Going with a more matte finish on the glass to reduce the glare would fuzz the picture a lot.
i think the ipod is going to have multi-touch screen, just watch the web page of electronic arts about the game "spore origins". this game is announced to be for iphone, ipod touch and ipod so i cant understand why apple will put such a terrible scree in nano.
also i believe that the special event will be in september 4th because a lot of games and apps from big companies are announced for this day.
Also i hope a bog macbook update to get in the aluminum mac line.
i don't like a zune-like ipod!!
nice call on the game release day
I would not like that plus it looks to much like the fake nano that is sold here http://www.brandsmart.com/ProductViewer.aspx?c=1005&m=0&sc=1042&pg=1&pgs... but that is also 1/3 of an inch thick
where's the new macbooks?
Apple going back to the older form factor is a TERRIBLE idea. I like the current nano form factor, and it would be better for Apple to release a "3.5G" nano that looks like the current model but changes the circuit board for longer battery life and offer 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB storage capacities for the player.
Actually I'm glad Apple is going back to the slimmer models, the fatboy nanos always put me off. As b/c I like to jog with the first gen nano in my hand, sold my 3rd gen b/c it made that very uncomfortable.
You are full of SHIT.
That Video And Pic Would Have Been Taken Down By Apple Legal By Now.
My Verdict... Its Fake!!!
or is it... (just kidding its defiantly photoshopped the reflection is one of the presets in adobe photoshop, then add slight distortion and wala.
