Digg's Rose - final predictions for Apple's 'Let's Rock'
After a week of being central to the Apple rumour machine, Digg founder Kevin Rose has published a wrap-up of his predictions in advance of the 'Let's Rock' event tomorrow.

There's little new information in his latest post, other than he has now published an image which explains how iTunes 8 will look, and how the new Genius recommendation features shall be used.
Among other tweaks, iTunes 8 will (apparently) make albums playable simply by hovering the mouse above them. iTunes 8 will also feature a Genius Sidebar, an on/off button for the feature, and will display Genius-recommended playlists in the left-hand menu.
Otherwise Rose repeated his previous claims:
- New design for iPod nano
- iPod price reducitons
- Software 2.1 on the iPod touch
- New Magnetosphere visualiser in iTunes
- iTunes 8.0
We'd like to observe that with so many commentators hyping up tomorrow's event, some in the media will already be preparing to invective should the launch disappoint. Yet recent activity on the part of Apple PR leads many to hope for the classic Jobs statement on such matters, 'one more thing'.
Will there be one more thing? Speculate in comments, or go play keynote bingo over at Cult of Mac.

i would love to have the ability to add custom columns to iTunes.
i buy a lot of singles from sites like beatport and trackitdown.net so the songs are not a part of any album. it would be helpful if i could add a "Label" column (as in record label) to help me sort my songs better.
why do they have to replace the "grouped with artwork" view? that was my favorite view! couldn't they have just added the new grid view instead of getting rid of the old one??
this is particularly bad considering how useless the Cover Flow view is for anything besides giving demos -- and yet they're of course keeping it.
More useless fluff to an already bloated app.
Just fix the "f"ing bugs in iTunes, Leopard and the iPhone.
That'll make most of us very happy at this point.
yeah if grouped with artwork is gone i'll be pissed
This screenshot is a fake. Apple would never use red squares and that old style font to protoype an interface.
its a 'mock up' goofball
Hahahahahah. That rocks!
when will iTunes play .shn files? WTF APPLE? I thought you guys had my back!
how can I play all my live DMB?
.shn is lossless so you can convert it AAC lossless easily enough.
Never heard of DMB and google gives no relevant hits, so that's *really* obscure.
I really don't see why we should trust this guy. It's pure speculation! He may have DIGG to his name, but only the people at their main base in Cupertino really know what is going on.
As for the guy who posted a comment on .shn files, I know Apple doesn't always seem to be intuitive or support anything some people really want, but they do it for a good reason. Steve pans Flash on the iPhone, but he is right because this proprietary player ultimately benefits Adobe, who doesn't exactly have everything AOK with its software either. I think the web would be much better with open standards like CSS, HTML, and Javascript than to have all these plugins for every single piece of content. Similarly, I see Apple as a company that wants everything they create to be accessible to the widest possible audience without much complication.
I just don't understand what happened to the flury of notebook rumors only a few weeks ago. In no way do I expect new macbooks to be released at tomorrow's event, but what happened to all the supposed leaked pictures of the frames and all this information about a glass trackpad? I thought all that was coming to a September event? Why haven't we heard anything else about the new macbooks?
Im waiting for 8.01 version of iTunes. It will just be that much better!!!
Dude, you are a total LOSER! Whatever. Us cool cats know that those who will await for iTunes version 8.02.99 will be like, you know, so rad. Oh man, oh man, iTunes 8.02.99 will be so ace!
Who the hell wants to play albums by hovering over the artwork? Are these the same people that have a bluetooth headset in each ear and want to talk to their computers?
Oh, and DMB (Dave Mathews Band) is not obscure. Lame, but definitely not obscure.
