Raging Thunder...best game yet for iPod Touch/iPhone?
For those of you with Jailbroken iPhones and iPod Touches, an amazing little app hit your installer this weekend. Raging Thunder is a car game that allows you to steer by (intuitively) leaning your device back and forth. The game is quick to learn and the graphics are certainly impressive. Have a look...

This freakin' rules. It's the little details that Apple adds to their products and the creativity of the developers that makes Apple products insanely great.
what did apple or their developers have to do with this game?
I'm guessing that they mean Apple made the iPhone and a developer wrote the game.
Now add in Wi-Fi support so we can play against people on the 'Net or the guy in the next cube and release it!
these are the most annoying comments.. "now just add 3d and a wiimote and release it!"
be happy with what has been done!
Motorcycle game would be even better!
i think it would be good to mention that the game only holds up 1.3 mb, has playstation 2 graphics, you can buy stuff to improve your car(s) and actually has a fairly long championship cycle for a mobile game.
In short; its friggin awesome!!
Do expand your article, its a disgrace to the developers of the greatest game developed for the iPhone/pod so far!
That's crazy shiznit. It looks smooth and responsive. What is he using for controlling the throttle and brake? The concept is fine, but I'd still prefer at least what the PSP has in the way of dedicated controls. I'd want a motorcycle game, too. Apple should release a handheld game console, but they'd need to acquire more older titles in addition to new ones. Too bad there wasn't a landscape mode like the PSP has. That should be easy enough to implement.
Using accelerometers requires too much motion which would tire most people out fairly quickly. You'd end up swaying all over the place. I even have that habit on my PSP. Using body english for no particular reason when playing Need For Speed.
Apple is going to put a hurtin' on a lot of companies. I hope they don't get overwhelmed and start losing focus.
tire too quickly? what about the wii?
He called the game Rolling Thunder at the end. That would be a good game for the iPhone. B-52s dropping Daisy Cutters all over the Viet-Cong straight up the Ho Chi Min trail. Only you get to use all the latest bombers such as the B2 and throw in a few A-10s and F-22 Raptors.
That is a great idea! Although Daisy Cutters were deployed by the MC-130, multiple aircraft would rock. Turn the iPhone right and left to turn the plane. Hold it vertically in front of you for a cockpit view and then hold horizontally at your waist for an overhead bombing run. Where's that development startup money!??!
I downloaded it, updated it, and i love it. but i still cant change the controls (auto acceleration and portrait mode only), and the sound doesnt work for some reason (maybe iphone only sound?)Hope to see this in the app store in June, waaaay more refined.
This should be in widescreen mode - not portrait
