Yawn. Keynote is king and from the looks of this it will still be for a long time to come.

At around 2:40, is that John

2229

At around 2:40, is that John Hodgeman, aka PC, that shows up for a brief moment? What is Microsoft doing with an Apple commercial in PowerPoint?

"Im a PC"

2024

That is actually a MS commercial...
http://www.appletell.com/apple/comment/microsoft-cuts-off-seinfeld-comme...

Yes, they have to copy Apple in every way.

No, that was MS's response,

2818

No, that was MS's response, you know, the I'm a PC thing... for most people it is forgettable.

font kerneling? WTF?

2622

font kerneling? WTF?

Kernaling?

2220

This is why graphic designers use Macs.

Oh and when video taping for public distribution you might want to pull the blinds, especially when they backlight the screen.

This is why MS folks will never get it.

I was thinking the same

2621

I was thinking the same thing. I'm a graphic designer and I've never heard of font kerneling. ha!

Font KERNING... The distance

2020

Font KERNING... The distance between single letters

PowerPoint 2010 = Keynote 2003

2730

YAWN - that's more than lame!
Look at those guys getting all excited about ancient stuff!

lol, when he starts showing

2720

lol, when he starts showing video functionallity.. is very first thing u see a mac ad? (pc guy?)

Microsoft does nothing

2928

Microsoft does nothing original. The big issue is that Microsoft users will look at it and do their oohing and aawing, thinking that they have come up with something new. I really feel sorry for them.

Sounds to me to be the same

2554

Sounds to me to be the same thing as an Apple Users response. Seriously, Apple does not invent everything to be new like you guys like to think. You think Apple is some godly thing that does nothing but innovate. Apple did not invent the Dock, and Microsoft does not copy EVERYTHING Apple does.

You can hit the thumbs down button all you like, it doesn't change the facts.

You are so right, Apple

3728

You are so right, Apple didn't invent the dock! But NeXt, founded by Steve Jobs, did. NeXt was later acquired by Apple upon Jobs' return.

It was actually Acorn that

2726

It was actually Acorn that had the Dock in first, not NeXt.

Let's see here. The personal

3926

Let's see here.

The personal computer was invented by Steve Wozniak of Apple Computers.

Gui was invented by Zerox, in which they just flippantly gave to Apple, then Gates thought he would steal the code and got his a@# sued over.

Then there is the start of the whole digital media, which actually began in the early 80's with none other than Apple being computer of graphics users world wide.

In the late 80's the first non-linear video editor was on a Mac.

Apple then invented Quicktime. Quicktime is the foundation of iTunes, and the iPod, which are both Mac inventions. Microsoft, like always, a day late and dollar short, came out with the iPod killer, the Zune. A month later Apple introduced the iPhone.

Microsoft has come out with it's own online media store but honestly I can't tell you the name of it.
As far as I know they did invent the whole Office thing, and IE, but they haven't really gone far with that. It's so basic and mediocre. There is no excellence or creativity in their products.

Mac users take a lot of pride in their computer. We're proud of the fact that we don't get virus's, we don't crash near as much, our software works great, and let's face it, we did spend more money and you always get what you pay for. It's not all perfect, all the time. But when a Mac is running at it's peak, it's running great. I have been in the graphics business for twenty years now, and I have a working policy, "I do not work on PC's".

Actually Microsoft didn't

2125

Actually Microsoft didn't even invent IE haha. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Internet_Explorer

Good call Lucky.

2224

Good call Lucky.

Erm - how does that fx help?

2324

How does screen effects help communicate effectively? Half the video's focus is on transitions and effect! And do CEO's even know what audio graphs are?

What a waste.

Well it helps the audience

3022

Well it helps the audience keep the focus on the slides.. since humans attention span is really short (<30 seconds) this is really important. Of course they should look decent to be usable in business tho.

I'm soooooo tired of these MS

2823

I'm soooooo tired of these MS morons copying Apple on every tiny thing and looking like they were inventing anything...

I'm soooo oo oo tired of

2832

I'm soooo oo oo tired of theses Apple morons thinking Apple invents every tiny think and looking like they were inventing everything.

No one said

2820

No one said Apple invented everything, we're just tired of the fact that Microsoft seems to get all of their ideas from something that Apple has put out there.

Nice!

3322

Cable Management.

Indicative

2521

That was the first thing I noticed and I'd say an indicator of the way these peoples minds work; in turn how the code is written.
Spaghetti style

that software just seems too

2522

that software just seems too cluttered for my taste.

Cluttered

2026

Like their cable managemnet.

Apple takes as many ideas

2825

Apple takes as many ideas from other places as any other company. The difference is Apple will take a good idea and improve it or implement it in a way that makes it better. Microsoft will take a good idea and either implement in a way that's counter-intuitive or put a shiny coat of paint on it to make it appear better. Or they take something Apple already perfected and doom it to mediocrity.
