Perth, on the Southwestern coast of Australia, is often called the remotest city in the world. There isn't much between Perth and most of Australia's population on the East Coast and it is quite a swim to the next-nearest big cities in South Africa.
Perth is a thriving, modern city of 1.6 million, however, and therefore needs one of those shiny Apple Stores. Now, it appears, it will get one. Apple is hiring Apple Store employees for work in "Perth-Australia in the 6000 postal code". Central Perth.

Up until now, PRA Imaging and Team Digital have been servicing the Apple population.

The "Remotest City" is not Perth
Honolulu, HI is generally accepted as the most remote city in the world, in fact it's even referred to that in some of the tourist brochures. Perth isn't even close as remote as Honolulu considering it's proximity to other cities in Australia...
Well no, actually the most
Well no, actually the most remote city in the world is Ushuaia, in the south of Argentina, check GMaps:

The answer is... it depends
It depends on how you define CITY. I believe they've used 1 million as the cut-off, which probably disqualifies both Honolulu and Ushuaia.
Sweet!
Actually there is 4 or 5 that i know of that Service Perth. I will have to go and see it when it comes :)
i work at a tinnnnnnny little
i work at a tinnnnnnny little mac shop in perth..interesting to see when an actual apple store makes it here. we just had one company close down (digilife) their two stores, team digital is "meh" (although i know the owner, nice guy) and ive never heard of PRA?
anyway, yes, perth is considered the most isolated /city/ in the world. its easier and faster to fly to a different country (indonesia) than it is to the next real "city" in australia. a city means there is an actual population.. if you want to talk remote cities, you might as well call that science camp in the south pole the most isolated city.
Remotest city...
If such a thing were possible... if I were to go into my backyard and dig a hole straight down through the center of the earth, I'd come up in Perth. So for me, at least, it is the remotest city in the world, because it is the furthest away I can go and still remain on the planet.
Most remote or not
I may just be time to move back home to Perth :-)
