Orange UK is offering a free 8GB iPod to business customers in the UK who sign up for their Orange Solo, Orange Venture or Orange Momentum small business mobile plans. Orange is competing with iPhone-carrying O2 in the UK small business space and offers the iPhone at its France Telecom division so it is an interesting decision.
Not many people consider the iPod Touch as being a business tool - though some do.
It is also interesting that they are giving out the 8Gb version of the iPod Touch. Wonder why? Perhaps they are trying to get rid of some stock?

I've read rumors that Apple
I've read rumors that Apple will "kill" the 8GB version to keep the 16GB and 32GB running out in the market... (I don't think the sales on the 8GB are as high as the 16GB version because people wanted more capacity) When this happens there will be price cut aswell.... the 16GB will cost less aswell as the 32GB (I've read that about $100 cut)... Analizing this article makes me think this an stragety to get rid of the 8GB faster...
A bit off topic: And yes the iPod touch is for business... for those who want a PDA and don't like Palms this is a good option... and giving them out for free then... I guess I would work for them... exept that I already own an 8GB iPod touch haha...
On topic: With SDK near I think the iPod touch will became more and more useful for business...
if you are giving something
if you are giving something away the cheaper version is always better. I don't think it has anything to do with old inventory.
ipod touch can be used with
ipod touch can be used with a number of HTC devices (Orange SPV) to get data on the move - basically a number of these devices can share their Edge or 3G connection via WiFi - effectively providing a proxy to the ipod touch.
Google it for more info.
Always thought it was ironic - apple and microsoft working in harmony (without realising)
Actually Steve Jobs and Bill
Actually Steve Jobs and Bill Gates worked together on DOS (Disk Operative System) for quiet a long time... this happened just after Steve Jobs was fired from Apple...
