..the news that Mighty Mouse has been trademarked and Apple is weeks, if not days, away from releasing a new, more rectangular  mouse.

They'll have 5 new mice:

- Mighty Mouse Starter (only works in Mail, Safari and iTunes)
- Mighty Mouse Home Basic (Works with most apps most of the time)
- Mighty Mouse Home Premium (Multitouch but corded with a trackball)
- Mighty Mouse Professional (Wireless with built in FM radio)
- Mighty Mouse Ultimate (Limited edition autographed by Steve Jobs, also rumored to have a camera)

I'm one of the few who actually likes the current Mighty Mouse, although not as much as I like the MBP trackpad. I've always wanted a USB version of the track pad to use with the Mac Pro at work.

I've never had a problem with the MM and the ability to scroll in multiple directions is golden in Photoshop and Final Cut.

But I'm looking forward to what comes next, hopefully it combines the best of both worlds.

As for what they decide to call it, frankly I don't give a damn!

Mighty Mouse was a clever name but (other) people didn't like the mouse, so the name didn't help it. This new mouse will live or die based on how much it sucks or doesn't suck, not on the name.
