Toys: Low Prices on Western Digitial 1TB and 2TB Green Hard Drives

Amazon has the low price this weekend on Western Digital Green Hard Drives. These hard drives spin down when not in use but zoom with 32 MB Cache, 7200 RPM and a SATA II interface. 2TB Drive is $229 ($225 from a 3rd party). 1TB is $88. Both ship for free.

Zipzoomfly has the 2tb for $110 and a 1tb for $67. So the prices listed here are nothing special.

the first one is a crappy Hitachi and the second one is the notoriosly horrible Seagate and it isn't even 2TB. Apple's to oranges.
I don't think these are 7200 rpm are they?
they are 7200RPM. However, when speed not needed, the drives apparantly spin down to 5400RPM
I've had the 1TB model for about a year now and it's a great drive. Very quiet.
these dont fit in (pre-unibody, last 15" model) macbook pros, do they?

No, these are 3.5 inch drives, you want a 2.5. The largest available are 500 GB.
