Whoever keeps naming sh*t "i" should be slammed in the balls. It ain't CUTE anymore.

what that guy said! No, seriously... I kinda like Slate, but really only kind of. iSlate is just not cool, it sounds like something Samsung or LG would think up.
The i in iMac was for "internet." The fact is, everything is internet enabled these days. iPhone works, okay. iPod is just kind of silly/stupid, even if it's ubiquitous now. It's funny how people are even dropping "Pod" off the iPod Touch, and just calling it iTouch. The "i" seems to be here to stay, even as I think it's time to accept that everything is i, and just dropped the insignia. Personally, I think the iMac should be renamed Mac vs. MacPro OR what about Mac Desk or MacHome? Just my $0.02
Happy it's not <anything>Tablet. I've kinda heard that word a bit too much. But who knows...
What about Macintosh!
Thank god you're not Apple's marketing department. MacHome. That's going to sell a lot of machines!
Slate in British English means to criticize severely. For that reason alone, the name is a non starter and couldn't be a global name.
Having an 'i' before everything is i-diotic.
Naming things "i" would have been cool if Apple had trade marked it; but since every company now has an "i" gadget they should give it a rest.
I like the name "Slate" but not iSlate... or maybe (Apple)Slate with the Apple logo at the beginning rather than the word, like the AppleTV.
The apple slate would be perfect. And the apple logo sitting in front would be perfect as well
I would like the name MacBook Slate better. iSlate doesn't flow as well. Well, not until Stevie J says it. lol
I feel like iPad is a good fit.. Kind of writes itself.
if i could give you 1000 thumbs down for that comment it would not be enough. iPad is the stupidest name ive ever heard of. I can just think of it now, some NYT journalist sitting around picking his nose saying to himself "Yuchyuchyuch iPad would make sense because they name their other products with an 'i' like the iPod yuchyuchyuch" THEY ARENT GOING TO DO THAT DUMB F*#& that would be WAY TOO SIMILAR AND CONFUSE THE CONSUMER! :| so no. it isnt a good fit.
LYAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!
iPad hahaha you're sarcasm rings true my friend
it'll be called iJobs
gotta stop the "i" everything...
Nope: It's going to be the Iris. "Your looking glass to movies, books, the internet", et al.
Keeps the i preface but with a twist. Choppy, easy to say, easy to remember. You'll see (pun intended) Jan 27.
Iris will become a verb, too (as in, "I was irising for more than an eight hours yesterday before my battery ran out..." OR "he Irised while he was in class and got a detention..."); it will quickly be added to modern language dictionaries..
If they must put an "i" in front, how about the name iTab
Tab in Northern England means cigarette, they wouldn't do that.
I hope it is not "iSlate"!
If it is an eReader... it could be called iBook. Apple alreafy holds the trademark.
genius. the return of the iBook! they MUST use that name!
c'mon, everybody likes pie
Pie sounds dumb!
MacTablet all the way.
if a Mac......But it's clear that thing will not be a "mac" but the evolution of Apple multitouch. So no-sense into call it "mac".
