You call THAT a tablet?
I said 6" or larger simply because you can't fit it in your pocket and while a 6" device might have a phone.app, I would never call it a mobile phone. That said, I hope the Apple Tablet is at least 9". 6" might make sense for maximum mobility, but it would hardly be more useful than an iPhone. Perhaps Apple will release a 6" iPod Touch along with the 9" MacBook Slate that haunts my dreams each night.
I totally agree with you on the pocket size issue. Surely people saying 9 inches are people who don't understand
the question?!
If it doesn't fit in your pocket it's a tablet!
the iphone/pod screen should start and finish at 4 inches and tablet start at 9 end at 12

I'd like it in three sizes: small, medium and large.
Say a choice of 4-6-8 inch screens.
You'd buy three of them?
The tablet should be about 30 inches diagonal, about big enough to lie flat on a coffee table. Then you could show it off to your friends by dragging little pictures around on the surface as if your hand was a mouse pointer. Wow. What a concept. I'll wager that 62% of US homes will have one by the end of 2010.
Remember the parody of the Microsoft Surface?

If it does less than a netbook, it is not a tablet. The iPhone could be a tablet if Apple let it, but it is not, because it is controlled. If apple made a device with non-proprietary video out (or had an adaptor) audio in/out and a USB port with disk access and is capable of installing a non safari browser, I would call that a tablet. Anything less is a big iPod media pad. Once a tablet 'computer' is out, I will be interested. Oh, and for size, it would need to be large enough for two hand typing on screen, so same as the Bluetooth keyboard that comes with current iMacs.
This is my first post on this nice Website. I would think that the minimum size cutoff, is at 6 inches because it would not be considered a pocketable device. The sweet spot I think would be 7 to 9 inches, perhaps 10 inches diagonally. I just received my first Apple device, a 32GB Ipod 3G, and am having a lot of fun with it. It is a remarkable device. I got it, since it can do things my Ipaq hx 4705 can not perform.
Thanks, for the good articles ...I am very intiresting..
My Dick Is A Monster,
I've got the thing you need
I am endowed beyound your wildest
Clearasil-spattered fantasies, oh oh oh..
Girls from all over the world
Love to write my name on the toilet walls
At the Whisky a Go Go
For I am Bwana Dik
I am Bwana Dik
Me Bwana Dik
Me Bwana Dik
My dick is a monster
Give me your heart
My dick is a Harley
You kick it to start
(Chorus line)
When Bwana Dik speaks
The heavens will part
My dick is a dagger
I'll force it to fit
My dick is a reamer, Baby
To scream up your slit
Steam it!
Ream it!
Cream it!
4 inches is an ipod, 10 inches is a tablet. 6 to 9 inches is nothing!

Agreed. Anything (iPod Touch/ iPhone) that fits in ur pocket is not a tablet.
sorry but i feel that anything from a 6 to 9" screen is a perfect tablet , look at most PC tablets and they are anywhere from 7 to 10 inches . Mac Tables should be the same . Plus look at there Laptop selections .
MacBook Air - 13 inches
MacBooks - 13 inch screens .
MacBook Pro - 13 , 15 and 17 inch screens .
MacTablet - 6 inches .
MacTablet Pro - 9 inches .
this would let you choose what you want .. anywhere from a 6 inch all the way to a 17 inch .. that is a large selection of screens . plus the 3 inch iPod and iPhones .
