NBC has begun offering iPhone and iPod touch users in the US the chance to stream full episodes of the broadcaster’s shows, despite not making these available through iTunes.
Like the BBC’s iPlayer service in the UK, shows aren’t being made available for streaming to audiences outside the US, who will see a message warning them the streams aren’t available from their location.
NBC’s shows - including The Office - are streamed in QuickTime format and are made available ad-free.
iPhone or iPod touch owners wanting a slice of NBC’s goodness simply need to visit the NBC.com website, click on the video tab, and they’ll get the chance to select between available shows, many of which offer full episode streams for viewing.

Seems like NBC is doing whatever they can to have their cake and eat it too.
I just checked out the videos...and they..well...suck. The quality is terrible and not even full screen.
I'm willing to pay NBC for the videos...$2 was QUITE reasonable - yet, they refuse to do what customers have asked for. Not to mention the increased battery drain due to wifi streaming.

Cool, switching the user agent gives me desktop access to the site. Unfortunately, the videos are crappy tiny 3gp files.

I hated NBC for their itunes hi jinx. Now, they have succeeded in bringing me back. I happen to think this is reallly cool and I bet they'll get millions of views, even though the quality is sub-youtube on my iphone. I've already added the icon to my home screen and emailed the link to my teenage daughter. I'm
expecting this to sell zillions of iphones as well. The fact the quality is low will help demo just how good the REAL stuff looks. BTW NBC will be able to see just how many touch and iphone views they get. What will that info do for them?

I agree with macerroneous. I too hated NBC for pulling their shows off of itunes. I would have been fine with paying $2.00 per episode.
But now I can watch whatever I like for free anywhere I want and I don't have to fill up my 8GB with tv shows that I have to sync and then remove later to make room for more.
