It’s Friday, thoughts are turning to weekend retreats after a shorter than average week, thanks to the US holiday Monday.
So - we’ve seen and heard all the pre-Apple event rumours this week - some will turn out to be true, some will be, erm, less true, and at this stage in the game the anticipation is fun all by itself.
We came across this latest image which claims to show the case for the new iPod nano, and yes, it confirms the time has come to say ‘goodbye’ to the fat nano (which we liked). We’re not saying this is true or false, by the way. Taken from Swedish site, MacFeber, we turned to the stalwart Google Translate service for its unique description:
“Our Bothan-spies have had hold of some nice pictures of the some of the first iPod nano 4G case, which is scheduled be shipped.
“The new iPod nano is both elongated and slightly more rounded than usual can hereby be seen as confirmed.
“Jivo distributed so far as we know from TNS here in Sweden.”

The correct english
The correct english translation reads:
Our Bothan-spies have gotten a hold of some really nice pictures of some of the first iPod nano 4G cases that are planned to be shipped.
That the new iPod nano is going to be both oblong and a little more rounded than usual car hereby be seen as confirmed.
Jivo is as far as we know distributed by TNS here in Sweden.
I've gotta say, I think it's
I've gotta say, I think it's funny how much people are bitching about the return to the old form factor, when a year ago when the "fatty" pictures were first posted on this very website it was the end of the world as we know it because how could Apple possibly come up with something so atrocious looking. Blah blah blah.
I Agree with The Noob

Big Issue With the Old
I have a 2G iPod nano which I love. I didn't have a problem with the new one and I have only one question if they go back to the long thin version:
What happens to the wheel?
The biggest nuisance with the small Zune is that when you turn it sideways to watch video, your forward/rewind buttons are now at the top and bottom rather than on the edges.
Cover Flow
I'm pretty sure cover flow won't be in the 4G Nanos because of the vertically elongated screen. But then, I'm pretty sure Apple knows that nobody ever used the cover flow on the 3G Nanos. Just a thought.
shut up and b greatful
its sweet and is most like ly better than the nano4g thats why they fucking make new ones
1) so they can fixs the complaints of the old ones
2) new tech
so shut up people who bitch and moan about evrything...no one gives a kare.
and y the hell would they make it touch screen...there stocks would be terrible ...think a bout it...doiii
jus get tha ipod touch
be greatful the world isnt made for you
I feel like one of the few
I feel like one of the few people who actually liked the look and the feel of the third generation nano. I'm fine with the style going back to the old form factor, but I really didn't like the 2nd generation nano, it felt much cheaper compared to the first generation nanos. I'm glad I bought a iPod touch, and it will be final iPod purchase for at least 1 year. :D
