Photos of Moscone - OSX iPhone, OSX Leopard
New Photos emerging from Moscone reveal a new branding strategy for Apple's OSX. Take a gander:
Some things to note: Is that MacBook Air is using a 16:9 14 inch display we mentioned earlier? To the right you see the little accelerometer icon. And what is that iPod Touch orange icon? Is that the new iPhone?

what is that orange icon that is coming out from behind, what looks like, an iphone? and then the icon directly to the left of that? i am talking about the long banner on the right of the hallway.
it's funny to read people's speculations over at macrumors about the supposed MacBook Air that is in that same banner. some think it's not a macbook air but something else because the edges of the LCD are smaller.
i think those r icons.. if u look to the left, there is a phone icon.
so id say 2.0 software will be released, cuz it shows iphones, with new apps and icons
if u click to enlarge it on the flickr page, u can clearly see its icons from the sdk, and app store, and some apps..
whats that square thing with wwdc written on it? It has a home button.... tablet?
If you compare the size with the MBA (???) in the backgroud, it could be, yes.
But: if it is not scaled correctly, it's simply an iphone.
I wonder more about the (bigger???) lower lcd frame of that MBA (???) and the bottom seems to be with more height.

The orange logo is a fingerprint. Assume that your iphone will need a fingerprint scan to access it :)
it looks like a fingerprint (the orange icon)
"whats that square thing with wwdc written on it? It has a home button.... tablet?"
It's an iPhone, it's just the perspective makes it look the wrong shape.
there is no 3g icon on the screen of that iphone. that is strange
Fede
The yellow icon is for Cocoa Touch.
i think it's a fingerprint
If you adjust the banner along the wall for perspective, and put the iPhone in the right proportion to match the current form factor, the MacBook Air looks just like the current 13.3" model. So no: it's not a new screen size.
C'mon, we've seen MANY WWDC and MacWorld banners. Every single time, they dont show anything new. The ones with new products/icons/whatever are always covered in black.
There is nothing new here
Note that Leopard isn't called "Mac OS X Leopard" like at WWDC07. It's just "OS X Leopard" and the iPhone variant is now called "OS X iPhone." Previously the iPhone's OS was called "iPhone OS."
Why bother renaming the OS? I think it's because Apple is getting its ducks in line for the much-rumored "tablet Mac" and/or some kind of Mobile Internet Device without a keyboard but with a bigger screen than iPhone. The OS on all such products could be called "OS X Touch."
That's why Apple is really hyping the iPhone at WWDC08. The more successful OS X iPhone is, and the more familiar consumers become with the touch interface (on Apple and all other copycat products), the sooner Apple can roll out their tablet Macs and Apple MIDs. A thriving market for OS X iPhone software could justify expanding OS X iPhone into OS X Touch for bigger screen devices.
Im confident Apple is going to show off some kind of ee pc, i just know it, the reason there are no rumors is cause thy have all are attention to the iPhone, but take my word for it im going to guarantee it will be there, and this is coming from a source that got some info once b4 which ended up being right.
Hmmm, if it dose not say Redmond start your photo copiers, to me it means there is no new leopard.
Is it any indication that they wont make any major modifications to the iphone design when the "iphone" on the posters looks just like the first version?
theyre not going to put a picture of the brand new one up, think about.
isnt it funny how every picture of the MBA has something covering where the name is, new macbooks maybe
and i hope that means they release the software 2.0
that is the new touch icon. for the touch interface/sdk. its a giant orange thumbprint.
That orange icon looks like the left hand side of a love heart.
I bet if we went to a M$ convention the graphics wouldn't be as stunning. you gotta admit that much.
ummm did it ever cross anyones mind that the orange fingerprint icon might just represent security, not really a fingerprint reader? And I really like that "the future: calling" catchphrase its gonna make for some interesting commercials
I agree. But I think it should be "The Future" (capitalized).
Hi guys
First time poster here.. In my opinion, it seems like the left side of the banner represents OS X Leopard, and the right side represents OS X iPhone. On the left hand side, you can clearly see the icon of the Finder and Spotlight, while on the right hand side there's a green phone icon. This would indicate that blue is the colour of OS X iPhone.
I guess what we're all wondering is whether all application icons are there for a reason, or only to "fill the frame". Most of the icons seems to be SDK-related (such as the 'A' with the hammer), which makes sense, this being the WWDC. However, note that on the iPhone side there's also the 'Map' icon from the iPhone/touch. Could this relate to GPS on the next iPhone? On the other hand, if everything is there for a reason, this would also imply something new for the Finder and Spotlight, which I don't know what to make of. Could the application icon, with what seems like an iPhone in front, represent the Application Store? and finally, the only icon appearing on both sides is what seems to be an iPhone with an application 'A' on its screen. What's that supposed to symbolize? the integration of the two OS X platforms? any ideas anyone?
Anyways.. I guess we'll all know next week... :)

I didn't notice the "Air" hidden name, but it seems to be made on purpose.
I agree with the "EE" like idea, screen of the device is just slightly bigger than the iPhone's.
An ultra portable would be really easy for Apple to do, just shrink the size of the Air's screen..
I really hope something about the new MBP is going to surface, although I highly doubt it...
The two colors (rose and blue) are clearly there to show the difference between iPhone OSX and Leopard OSX. Both devices also seem to be "hiding" something. It's like a "Mac" and the "iPhone" are hiding the center of the banner...
Adding to my previous post. My opinion is that they are hiding the rumored "Mobile Me" or ".Mac revamp".
This would bring convergence, synching and a lot of stuff to combine "Mac" and "iPhone" OSXs.
But that is just a WILD guess.
Are the iPhone and the MacBook Air with different screen edges printed at the same scale?
Maybe it's not the MacBOok Air, because the logo "macbook air" was hidden on this banner and also hidden on the invitation by the iPhone. Could it be the new MacBook design??
