I can't imagine anyone actually liking Ballmer. Perhaps he's an awesome dude, but he always comes across as a blithering jerk.

I can see that Bill Gates might actually be a decent, regular guy. Ballmer just comes across as a narcissist on drugs who could drop dead of a heart attack within 30 seconds.
