Microsoft pulls out of 'Family Guy' special

Microsoft has yanked its sponsorship of Fox's upcoming Seth MacFarlane comedy/variety special.  Our only question is: Has Microsoft ever watched Family Guy?  What did they expect?

But that was before Microsoft execs attended the special's taping on Oct. 16. The special included MacFarlane and Alex Borstein - the voice of "Family Guy" matriarch Lois - pitching Windows 7.  For most of the special, however, MacFarlane and Borstein made typical "Family Guy" style jokes, including riffs on deaf people, the Holocaust, feminine hygiene and incest.

Maybe Jerry Seinfeld is looking good again?

When can we see Hulu and Network video in Canada?

I have to see video on Cogeco cable, not on the Internet.

Wow. I really thought this would end poorly for MS -- this is about the best possible ending for them, actually.

But you know what's funny? Microsoft has a deal with Fox/NewsCorp but Fox/Newscorp *hates* MSNBC, Microsoft's partnership with NBC. Hmmm... weird.

It's more the opposite... Especially Keith Dorkoman... He "competes" (poorly) with Bill O'Reilly. Bill tweaks MSNBC when he touts ratings for Fox...

The Keith Dorkoman show, if one were to watch, you'd thing George W. Bush was still President and the Republicans were in control of the House of Representatives and the Senate!

That doofus is the one that has "pure hatred" in his soul!

He acts like the anile prick that he really is!

Apparently from Fox watcher. No need to say anything else...

I agree. Dorkoman? Really? The paucity of intellect on display here... probably a product of watching too much Fox News.

Guess I'll just roll my eyes and move on.

Apple should buy the ad time instead.

It just goes to show that if FOX trys to strangle MacFarlane with a contract, It will inevitably bite them in the ass.

Especially when they want them to make a commercial that goes against most things that he believes in.

Best result ever.

US only video, someone post it on the torrents :p

is US only video content!

It's an old episode from april this year (yay VPNs!). Nothing to do with the story.

Actually in the most recent epidsode (s7e6) of Curb Your Enthusiasm, the show opens up with Jerry Seinfeld sitting at a desk with his unibody 15" macbook pro. So much for that suggestion.

As any fan of the show knows, Peter was declared mentally retarded. Perfect pitchman for Microsoft.

Did they think was going to make them look "cool and hip" to a younger audience? Stick with what you know, stuffy and corporate.
