Ay Caramba! -Mexican iPhone coming in Junio
According to El UNIVERSAL (translated), our amigos south of the border will be enjoying the iPhone with mobile operator Telcel in a few short months. They expect the price to be about on par with the US, although the iPhone is widely expected to go 3G by June. Perhaps Apple will be selling EDGE iPhones and 3G iPhones or maybe dividing by market.
Canada??.... How does it feel to be the last large North American country sans iPhone? Ouch - Rogers!

They are going to send the rest of the inventory of EDGE iPhones to Mexico when they announce the 3G iPhone and sell them for $200 - just like they did with the rest of the Volkswagon Bugs you are showing. (and canning factory - which is why you get those hella old soda cans there)

If Apple is putting out the iPhone in Spain with Movistar, it makes no sense that they will put out iPhone in Mexico with Telcel.
well movistar is the largest mobile operator in spain, as telcel owns most of latin america's phones, waaaaay more than telefonica (movistar) has. As a note to the guy who said the thing about the vw's, mexico's vw plant manufactured the bug succesfully for years and exported it to the entire world, now every single jetta in the world is madre in mexico.

I live in Toronto. Have an iphone. Rogers hookup. Works nicely. Great status symbol. Only complaint is that no one up here sells accessories - can't buy a case at the Apple Stores in Toronto. You'd think they weren't selling iPhones here or something.

I have been a Rogers customer for 20 years, and I just can't wait to dump them to get an iPhone. Arrogant, oligopolistic, and anything but customer focused, putting the iPhone into the hands of Rogers would be like putting a 12 year old kid at the controls of a 767--a total waste of resources.
Bye bye to Mr. Rogers neighborhood, from formerly loyal customers like me by the thousands, I say.

Why ?
Rogers is the ONLY one to be able to deliver any phone service to Canadians with their "shitty" network (here in Montreal at least) so they continue saying that they don't want to offer unlimited data plan (on full featured headsets at least) and this makes no chances for us.
So if another player was coming down... that would make a lot of things change and bring down their stupid "premium price" over Bell's network, etc...
Another question i have... still... does Rogers offer 3G network ? or only EDGE ?
If it's only EDGE... they are then really in bas shape for the next wave of cellphones :D

As much as I want an iPhone, I'd rather have no iPhone than have do deal with Rogers. Their network is 2nd rate at best and their business practices with respect to contracts, services and charges don't even make it to 2nd rate.

About the VW bug... I've never driven one of those, but don't judge people who do. Unlike others.... And, FYI, we don't ride burros or horses here. I've actually never riden either of those in my life. I ride my brand new Civic...
About the iPhone... Cool, I'm sure they'll be the 3Gs and I'll buy one of them as soon as they get here.
