But to the average consumer, do you think that matters? I think they are right on the money when people view the iPhone as being cheaper. Most people think of the iPhone as $199, not $199 + 2/yr contract or $500+ w/o contract.
Anyone who has taken econ 101 knows that the customer's perception is more important than the reality of the situation. If a customer will not buy a product at $300 but will at $200, then you should try to sell at the lower price. I have run several businesses and I can tell you that reality doesn't matter in the mind of the consumer.
I prefer my iPod Video 5.5G... It's what the iPod was meant to be, the simplest mp3/mp4 player available with the slickest style. The iPod touch isn't an iPod anyway, its a hanheld internet browsing-app running device. The iPod in it sucks. That's what I think.
The Mini is also one of Apple's products which hasn't been updated this year... As usual, journalists and editors don't check their facts before making twats of themselves... And on TV at that!
