Ok, we're a bit dissappointed...

AppleTV, especially with its streaming start is going to rule the living room like the iPod rules the MP3 market, no doubt. We don't even watch TV but are getting one of these (anyone know a good TV to pick up?).

Time Capsule? Great idea. Not much more than a USB attached wireless router though. We'll still take it.

iPod/iPhone stuff. Yeah that's great, already got most of it 3 months ago.

Macbook Air. Where to start? The only real configuration to consider is the high end. The low end has the same processor as the old Mac Mini and boots/uses an ipod hard drive running at 4200rpm. slooowwww... So the high end.

That is priiiicey. And why no 160Gb hard drive option? Do I have to rip my iPod Classic open to get that? Also, it is big! Not thick but it has the same footprint as a MacBook. Let's get the screen closer to the edges next time guys. It is still WAY bigger than that Sony TZ. Its not going into anyone's purse like a TZ.

Obviously, it is still a work of art and Apple will sell lots and lots.

No displays? Really? Has anyone been outside lately? Displays start at about 1/2 of what Apple charges. For the same LCD tech. A good chance to throw an iSight in there as well for a premium. Apple dispays are the best in the business - especially for color correction and such. Give us a consumer 24" display with a camera...oh yeah - the iMac.

DRM Free music? Apple is now behind Amazon as the best music store on the net. I have a feeling that this isn't Apple. But still/

MacBook Pros? Nothing? Really? I can't tell the difference between what I am using now and one released 3 years ago. The Mobile Penryns should be hitting soon and now I expect a better multi-touch trackpad.

Midrange Mac? I know. Go buy a Dell.

iPhone hardware would have been nice. And Blue Ray too. Though with HD Rentals, it is obvious that Apple ain't playing that.

Ya, starts at $1,799, but if you 'upgrade' to 64GB SSD, and 1.8GHZ you're looking at the $3K range.
The Mac Book Air is really a glorified MacBook. for the same price get what i think is a far superior MBP, albeit slightly dated. MBA is just really thin!

Agree with 9to5 - Very disappointed about no updates to the MBP!

Well I must say I was impressed, especially by the rental movies on iTunes, the update to Apple TV (which I own and use a lot), and the new Macbook is gorgeous. Don't forget the updates to the iPod touch, which I own and like a lot!

I can imagine some people expected even more, but hey, the year has only just begun. Apple will suprise us further, I'm sure.

When it's soo over-hyped, have to be disappointed. Exhibit A: Apple stock price. I think iTunes rentals will be great. I didn't get the small macbook I wanted either. I would have loved a tablet or even a 12". But what about the last bit about only 2 weeks down. I may eat my words on this if they release new MBPs immediately, but in the case of the desktop Penryns, Intel released November 11 with an almost exclusive purchase contract to Apple. They appeared only last week in the product stream.In the case of the mobile Pennys, there is high demand across the board without the exclusive deal, and they were only released on 1/7. It stands to reason, although I may well be wrong, that Shanghai will need a substantial delivery before shipping of finished goods.

It IS only the 15th day of the year and they already updated the Mac Pros, iTunes, iPhone, and iPod touch (btw, they are offering price protection for the $19.95 software update)

I was hoping to see a BluRay option today, but since it wasn't abundantly clear that BluRay was the winner until last week we'll probably see it later.

Also, Am I the only one impressed with the way the MacBook Air can share an optical drive from another computer to install even the OS or to burn disks?
