This is NOT the next Mac Mini...
But still, it will be interesting to see if Apple changes the Mini design at all... (via Macenstein)
Yeah, of course it is the side of the Macbook. Why would the Mini need a screen?

Thanks to Sverkel for this one..

The one who made this, really has to much time to waste.
Unless they are inserting vinyle LP in the macbook, the slot looks kind of large to me
and edited side of the macbook ;)
Could have spent another 15 min (on top of the 15 he put in) to actually make it believable. These fakers are starting to get lazy. By the way, it this like a Saturday hobby of you guys? Go over to Macenstein - the absolute least credible Mac rumor site - and post whatever they happen to have up?
Well, not saying the pic is legit, but why do you assume it is a screen?
Shape seems to conform to current new products (macbook/pro aluminums)
Current mini disc slot is about the same proportionally.
Seems within reason to me. I actually like the look.
Only time will tell however.
For me, if there is a new Mac mini (I like it, I'm not beleiving there will be a new model) I think it would follow the size of the TV and TimeCapsule, maybe incorporating the power supply.
As for the "vinyl LP sized slot" would be wonderful: I still have a lot of LPs (the ‘original Beatles’ included) and a lot of singles!
This would also be the "revenge of Apple to the labels:" Back to LPs!!!
Maybe not vinyl, but personally, I'd love the industry to go to an optical analog format. They did it with laser discs, so they could do it again.
looks pretty mintt. Mac minis are used quite a lot for media facilities and are quite adaptable to upgrade. Hopefully if they do bring a new one out it will be the same.
Here is my version of the new Mac Mini :D

Yes, that is what I had in mind as well.
I think if Apple use the Airs mother board than it could be very small.
This is near perfect! This would make the Mini look much cooler. This is what I expect from Apple. Maybe a half inch taller, but something very similar. Nice job!!
I dont think its a sreen, i think its just an asthetic thing, like on the Air Port extreme. This could be it, but also this design would stop people stacking things on top. and that would dissapoint. Apple doesn't want that...

Is this a case of creating noise to fill in the silence?
Yes.
Now that there are more concrete rumors of a new mini coming out (the config file that shows macmini 3,1) I'm sure we will be seeing even more fakes in the next couple months.
Months?
You mean weeks, Macworld is in 17 days?
Mac Netbook.
Macbook net
obviously it's the most likely, but the optical media slot is a contradiction to what's been done with the MacBook Air so I doubt it's a Mac Netbook

Little idea:

Good, but I doubt Apple would ditch the optical drive just yet. Maybe in a few years, but not yet.
It's worth pointing out that for that design to be believable, the new Mac mini wold have to have an external HDD or, god help us, an iPod/Air one.
