Best Buy price guides reveal static pricing on new MacBooks?

So much for Piper Jaffray and Inquisitr's hopes for reduced pricing on MacBooks according to Gizmodo Best Buy tipsters.  If we read them right, (and they've got the screenshots to somewhat prove it), Apple's entire laptop line will remain at the same price points.

Also, if this is all the truthy truth, there won't be 12 price points as speculated earlier by the Inquisitr.  Bad news for those who were hoping to catch a break on the low end of the MacBook line.

As far as reliability, Best Buy inventories have been hit or miss so we'll take this as speculation.  They are also  a bit hard to understand and all secret coded.  Interestingly, they are using color code names to denote the laptop differentiations...but don't go starting rumors about green MacBooks mmmk?

Larger shot, you know where

GREEN = $1,999.99 - 15" MacBook Pro base model
PURPLE = $2,799.99 - 17" MacBook Pro base model
YELLOW = $1,499.99 - 13" MacBook top end model
BLUE = $2,499.99 - 15" MacBook Pro mid model
ORANGE = $1,299.99 - 13" MacBook mid Model
RED = $1,099.99 - 13" MacBook base model

I Dunno...

This looks rather meaningless to me. These all appear to be placeholders based on earlier entries, which explains the beginning sell date. Also, this doesn't necessarily mean that the extra SKUs don't exist as they don't have anything listed for the MacBook Air. It's also possible that Apple might not let Best Buy sell all models.

Just g-o-t-t-a h-a-n-g i-n t-h-e-r-e a b-i-t l-o-n-g-e-r...

This better be fake or just

This better be fake or just Best Buy putting in the old prices because they will not receive new pricing until tomorrow.

This or that way after

2726

This or that way after tomorrow I just don´t want to hear the words Firewire, HDMI, ports, Magsafe, case etc. for the next 10.000 days. I have such an overkill on speculations about all this. I know I know, I am on a rumor site by my own, I don´t blame anyone but slowly I am becoming just sick about it. So, "que Serra, whatever will be, will be".

you are correct: i don't

Retailers do NOT get final

1927

Retailers do NOT get final pricing until the day of the product announcement. This is just a place holder - period!

This would fly in the face

2026

This would fly in the face of:

1) Oppenheimer's previous statements
2) Every analyst's projection
3) Market trends

This is the same pricing

2623

This is the same pricing model from apple's website for the current macbooks???

And the period for the sell starts October 9, 2008. It says "Current Sell" October 9, 2008.

This has nothing to do with the new MB and MBP

Jesus, Best Buy does not get

2331

Jesus, Best Buy does not get pricing before Apple announces it. You don't even know if they're going to ship tomorrow. Any Apple's warranty isn't 14 days, even for Apple products bought at Best Buy... that paper is crap.

Try reading that

Try reading that again.

Exchange days: 14
Warranty: Parts / 1 year; Labor / 1 year

As a Best Buy employee, I can

2524

As a Best Buy employee, I can say with confidence that we have no idea what the new models are or what the pricing of the new models will be. Even our Apple Representative, who is employed by Apple and knows of new products about 3-4 months in advance is not allowed to tell us what prices are going to be or officially say if they are even going to have new models. If he has to be that tight-lipped about everything, I highly doubt the inventory system will be updated until the day after the announcement. These are current prices of the current computers, and this is stuff that pulls up when you look up the current models, so this is obviously just hot air.

The 14 day exchange period is

2922

The 14 day exchange period is the period Best Buy allows you to return the computer, that's all that means. It has nothing to do with the warranty whatsoever.
