Upon further review, we are not so sure this picture represents the new MacBook Pro. While it does look exact in a lot of areas, the white 'splotch' on the top left looks suspicious. We took the original from the Chinese forum and blew it up a bit. If you look at the white area, it doesn't really conform the way it should around the beveled keyboard, especially if it is supposed to be a light reflection. We're torn 50-50, what do you think?

Plastic Strip
This is just an opinion, but this, to me, looks like a plastic film covering the part (to keep scratches off while being manipulated?)
The part could still be genuine underneath.

It's a protective plastic film. You can see the line of it down (right and down) the keyboard.
Is the MacBook Pro case a fake?
If the case is covered with protective film as is common in metal manufacturing this might explain the wierdness.
Mac book reflection
It looks like a true reflection, the keyboard I believe is covered in a plastic film that could be lifted in places to cause the reflection to conform. This could be part of the new process of the construction. I think it could still be legit.
Looks like plastic for protection.
It looks like they may have put plastic over the initial body in order to protect it from the rest of manufacturing process.
Who knows if it's real? We'll find out when it comes out.

It looks like there is a clear film around the outter area of the notebook, and it looks like the film comes up a bit to create a lip around the keyboard!!!
The film doesn't cover the
The film doesn't cover the area over the keyboard. It stops at the start of the bevel or goes slightly over. If this is somewhat stiff plastic this would be a plausible explanation. In fact it would make sense that they would put a protective cover over those tiny speaker holes to keep them from filling with dust etc. Even if the light reflection (and therefore the plastic causing it) is slightly misshapen towards the top left it isn't that unreasonable to believe that the plastic could have been bent, folded or otherwise deformed as a result of handling.
The gradient (light to dark, top left to bottom right) indicated by the arrows above is easily explained by the crappy lighting wherever this picture was taken and by the quality of the camera.
Yes geniuses, it's clearly a
Yes geniuses, it's clearly a piece of plastic.
What looks odd is the distortion of the plastic at the top left where it's slightly sunken down - almost as if the power switch is now on the left and flush with the function keys (which would make no sense).
I think this is very odd, though unlikely to be something a hoaxer would fake other than to coverup something that could identify the image as a fake.
Who knows. R
Yes at first it looks strange
Yes at first it looks strange but if you look closely it could also be the plastic not stuck on the metal in a perfect line but more like sticking out a little, looks slapped on by someone quickly seeing as it is probably a test case. I dunno thats my opinion
