More Macbook Mini shots?
Our tipster has emailled in the rest of those Russian (April fools?) magazine shots. If this is fake, which we are thinking they probably are, someone did a lot of pretty solid Photoshopping work, no? More pictures below.

This is total BS... there is no way a cyrillic keyboard would be in an apple prototype...

im pretty sure that the closed side view is the mb air
the downward view of the keyboard looks like the new macbook pro with speakers cutoff and then resize smaller, and with the finish of the surface it wouldnt be hard to do.
the side view image doesnt resemble the obvious 3/4 renders, which is another reason the 3/4 view photos are definitely fake it's the best looking automatic render setup in 3d programs.
on the white one's 3/4 angle you can see a poorly blurred gradient.
maybe the info is right and the pics are all renders based on info...im thinking april fools as most likely.

I have on good authority that the specs don't match anything that apple has in development, namely the screen size so it's definitely fake all around.
the 3/4 views also look like they mapped modified real life views of the new macbook pro keyboard and laid it onto the render. Only reason they seem 3d is because of the shadows on the key, you dont get to see if theyre actually sticking up or just a flat image.
but thats just the skeptic in my, i hope its real.
I mean if Apple is going to model the device on Mac Book AIR why not repeat all the mistakes that have made that device a failure. What I'm talking about here is the lack of ports. AIR is actually a good concept that was poorly implemented, if Apple goes ahead with something like this they out to be charged with customer abuse!
I do hope that it is an Aprils fools joke, but like I said I don't doubt that Apple could try to sell something like that. In any event it ought to sell a lot better than the current AIR if they can get the price under $700 US.

DEFINITE FAKE. Look at the Macbook Pro Left Alt Tab, it has a defect or some lint on it. Then look at the macbook mini, it also has the same defect in the exact same place. Fake, no doubt.

Didn't apple neglect the buttonless trackpad style on the MBA because it wasn't possible with the thin form factor? How is it possible in an even smaller form?
Because maybe advances in technology now make it possible?

Why do "[" and "]" appear twice on the keyboard? First in the upper left corner and then at their "regular" location?

same reason that those keys are in their regular location on the normal MacBook and also next to the "z" key on it. It's just been relocated to make room and symmetry for the lack of an "Eject Key" since there is no Super Drive.

If, as the majority of the readers thinks, it is a fake, on top of pictures, why did they spend 2 pages to write an analyze of this supposed future model, the macbook mini?
It's definitely a fake. Why? Let's have a look on the keyboards at attachment 3. There is the same dust particle in the middle of the P-key (macbook and macbook mini).

I checked out Intels web site after my post because of concerns about that processor. You are right nothing currently listed there for a 740, though I didn't search extensively.
Of course that doesn't mean that Intel & Apple didn't cook up something custom for Apples need. Intel has expressed interest in competeing against ARM, to do that you have to have custom product. The other thing is that if Apple did go the I86 route it would be stupid to do so without 64 bit support.
Of course there is Also the issue of the complexity of the artical. It looks like an awful lot of work to for April fools. I don't really get that holiday so maybe it is expected. Why would anyone go to that much trouble?
On the other hand I do hope that it is a joke. Frankly repeating the mistakes made on AIR isn't likely to lead to hot sales. The big issue there is the lack of high speed ports, one USB doesn't cut the mustard. Of course what might save the device is Snow Leopard if the GPU can support it, which would help with what would otherwise be sucky performance.

Simply fake.
See the word "Mini" under the screen. It's totally not distorted to the viewing angle.
I did some quick measuring and now kind of believe this MB mini is a fake. According to my calcultions the DisplayBezel of the MacBook if the screen was totally centered would be 1.9cm to each side and 2.4cm to both the top and bottom, which I believe to be accurate.
Calculating the very same for the 'new' MacBook mini based on the sizes that were given in the description, however, the DisplayBezel would be a lot LARGER compared to the MB, with 1.9cm to each side, but 3,4cm to top and bottom !!! And now THAT cannot be the case... if I am not entirely mistaken...
To clarify, though, I am well aware of the fact that the screen is NOT centered. Cos of the hinge it is pushed a LOT more to the top than to the bottom... but still... this seems kind of...say...awkward to me...

Wow. Some people sure spend a lot of time investigating obvious fakes. Why waste that time? Why not just look at it and say ... nah, like intelligent people?

I doubt official Apple photos would have Adium and World Of Warcraft (I think) in the Dock?
even if it's fake.. please apple add some ports: 2 or 3 usb and a firewire 800...I definitely need the firewire (400) or 800 to connect the apogee duet!! :-)
