Are these only for use with MacBooks? Certainly there can be some for not new MacBook customers...

Also that connector array is starting to resemble a dock...

All a bit frustrating...

2926

no blueray in the new macbooks, no full HD Resolution for the 15" MBP, The 24" still has 1920 resolution but i like the new cable solution.

I'll pass

2625

$900 for a 24 in monitor? I think I'll pass

It's not just any monitor.

2626

It's not just any monitor. It's an LED monitor with a laptop dock built in. How much are those other 24 inch LED monitors selling for? Hmmmm?

You're right. It's a great

2723

You're right. It's a great deal on a quality product. Don't forget the iSight camera and the speakers, too.

I'm sure that this can be

2728

I'm sure that this can be used as a dual monitor on an iMac too.

I just talked to someone from

2328

I just talked to someone from apple online and they said the display would work with my powerbook and mac mini with an adaptor

That's a lie. These employees

That's a lie. These employees really do not know what they're talking about.

"Compatible with MacBook, MacBook Air, and MacBook Pro systems with Mini DisplayPort."

see, you my friend, are

2429

see, you my friend, are unaware of adapters. they are these handy little things that turn one type of connector into another and make them available to other products that don't have the same port configuration. think before you speak. please.

not to mention its IN THE

2932

not to mention its IN THE TEXT!

they wouldnt make something like this not backward compatible in some way.

The broken upgrade is getting

2833

The broken upgrade is getting a little weird. It's really odd for Apple to have so many lines broken between different styles/generations. I'm sure it's not cheap for them, though, so I assume/hope it won't last past January.

I honestly thik that it's a

2729

I honestly thik that it's a waste of money unless you really need it, what traveling business person is going to get one of these? what is it's market geared towards?

some one that travels is the

2324

some one that travels is the target, personal my MBP is the on computer I have so when its at home and on my desk so I can run Dual displays, but I usually take it with me when I go to class in the morning, it would be nice to be able to have all the cords right there. So I could plug in or unplug 3 (four including the speakers) instead of having to get out my charger plug it into the wall to my mac, the display, my iphone dock, my tablet, and my storage drive.

I am just not happy with them killing off the firewire 400 and no Pro updates :(

only*

DVI and VGA cable... no more in the box?

2629

WTF!!!! I Have now to spend add 29$ for something mandatory in the business world??????? WTF!!!!

Ok. Now I REALLY think that a

Ok.

Now I REALLY think that a tablet computer is coming out...with a display port as well to connect to this monitor.

give it up

2127

man, are you guys stubborn! this is straight from engadget's live feed, ok?

Q: You've put a lot of work into the new touchpad, do touchscreens not make sense?
A: Steve: so far it hasn't made a lot of sense to us.

can it be any clearer? give it a rest, ok? you can start annoying us again in, say, 12 months.

Nice, it's a pitty they are

3024

Nice, it's a pitty they are just for laptops. I would love to have 2 of these babies on my Mac Pro. I think we will see these bought over to their other cinema display soon.

Jobs did say more than once

2722

Jobs did say more than once that the Mini-Display Port was an industry standard that was coming to ALL of the products Apple offers. The next Mac Pro revision will include it either in place of (with adapters) or alongside DVI.

the target audience

3027

i think i may fall into the target audience.

i'm a young professional and i try hard to live below my means. i cut corners where i can. i do things for free whenever possible. i haven't had cable for quite a while now, and i do almost 100% of my "tv" watching on the computer- downloading and streaming shows/movies whatever. actually, just this morning i bought a 22" samsung monitor to hook up to my macbook. the challenge now is speakers. it would be nice to have a monitor that can provide audio and power as well as video, at a high resolution (not like using a LCD TV) and lower price for the size.

i think more and more people are using their computers for their entertainment centers. and more and more people are only using a laptop.

i personally am not ready to shell out $900 for an LED display. I bought an LCD monitor for 199 today. i'll use separate speakers, but this is a nice product.

lol!

2520

Get over yourself, St. Francis. Buying a $900 monitor is not exactly frugal.

lol!!!

2622

Get over yourself and learn to read. He said he was NOT ready to shell out $900 for a display.

i feel the same way. but its

2530

i feel the same way.

but its so beautiful.
and neat and tidy.

FWIW, the samsung 24" LED

2320

FWIW, the samsung 24" LED monitor is over $2000

Wow... and thanks to the

2230

Wow... and thanks to the full-glare coating, one of these new displays can also serve as a nice big mirror!

If this is the future of Apple displays, I'll be sticking with third-party options from now on.

Nice!

Hook a couple of these babies to my new Mac Pro 8-core and use the built-in iSight cameras for stereo 3-D iChat sessions!
