New MacBook spy shots?
Engadget thinks it might have found the next MacBook Pro in this spy shot. Looks pretty good to us - One piece of Aluminum, check. Laser cut speaker holes? Check. Notice how much smaller those are than current Macbook Pro speaker holes. Also, we notice that these things are somehow getting even thinner than the width of a USB port.

Please, do not put the speakers there on the MacBook as on the MacBook Pro!
It's... eew.. yuck,
The Mack book pros already have speakers on them.
please shut the f up please please
it is the macbook pro you idiot
I got it, jeez.
BTW, look at the headline.... jackass!
looks like one piece to me.
Looks like there's no back on it. If that's from the new and improved manufacturing process then it's going to have seams.
agreed, if there's no back, there will be a seem.
if it dont have a back on how do they get the motherboard in?
How do you think you can put the internals of the MBP in there if there's the back and the front in one piece? And how do you think you can create hollow shapes from one block of aluminium? Impossible.

Thank you for just proving my point. Solid block of aluminum or not, there is at least two seams somewhere (one for the bottom and one for the top). Everyone was thinking it's such a big deal. This whole Apple fanboy hype machine has been ridiculous here. Basically this whole hullabaloo is a fancy way of saying it's made of aluminum.
I'll be getting the new MBPro but in terms of this whole rumor (say it with me).
Clap, clap, clapclapclap...O-VER-RA-TED!!
why cant they slip the internals in from the back and have them snap into place? then just have the screen fill in the back.
Hopefully it won't be the sharp cheesegrater grill from the first G5s.
Definitely Legit. Interesting new approach for the keyboard. Notice all the important ports are on the left. What will be the space on the right used for ???
green lasers!
that part will be reserved for macbooksex.
thats how macbooks are born.
Classic. I love it.
It looks like it has a modem port with the ethernet port behind it. Unless that is a MagSafe port, but it looks kind of tall for that, considering MagSafe is the size of a USB port. Or maybe... full-size DVI?
wow. can't wait. no buttons...
looks like display-port ;-)
it's a display-port. if you look closer you can see the
symbol ( it looks like IOI )
The rumour is that the new MacBook's are a full case of aluminum.
If this is the case, then why do the headphone & microphone jacks have a metal ground surrounding the socket? Surely the entire metal housing would be enough grounding! Not even the current plastic MacBook's use this!
Aluminum is not used as a ground.
Ok, so this is the top left side of the case.
I'm going to say that's a magsafe spot first, then Network, USB, USB, Firewire (or MiniDVI?), audio in, audio out.
So what's interesting here is the keyboard.
It looks to me like the keyboard area is a little bit inset. Is it possible that the keyboard will be a thin insert that rests on top of the aluminum lattice we are seeing here?
It would eliminate keyboard flex entirely, but I don't know how the feel would be other than that.
Hmm, food for thought. :)
Am I the only one that sees the giant seem between the top and left edge. You know, where it is a much lighter color? This is not one piece of aluminum.
no.. that's a protective plastic shield (used under production)...
You are correct sir. My bad. However, I still have doubts about a screwless case considering the lack of a bottom on this unit.
seems like it's the plastic which makes it look like a seam
the "seam" you speak of looks like its just the edge of the plastic film/sheet laying on top of the case....
solid piece of aluminum? yes indeed
Wow...They weren't lying...It really does look like a brick!!! I can't belive it...
I'm getting 2...!
