The new Macbook sucks. It looks like HP crap. I can't beleive it has no firewire. I am loosing faith. I have been waiting months to get a new Macbook and now it looks like there is no point. I can't hook my camera to it. SUCK

ridicolous...think different ageis finish!

Anybody else disappointed about that keyboard? Myself, I owned a PowerBookG4, and it was darn sexy. I was excited about getting the new MacBookPro, but then they used that black keyboard....bummer. The entire product is awesome, except for that little nagging aesthetic detail. Good news is something good may come from it...how sweet would a black anodized aluminum MacBookPro be? It would solve their issue of trying to hide the iSight camera (which a black bevel does over the silver ones of the past), IR receivers (still one left on the front of the new guy), and the matching keys would restore the 'pureness' of the older models. Anyway, I'm sure Apple has thought of this and it's only a matter of time (new 'chromatic' nanos demonstrates the capability)...I'm waiting!!!

Above all what I like about this event is that apple has presented all the expected products before January (and Christmas of course). Let's be honnest here these new MB and MBP would have been enough for a January event. For me the fact that we have an Ipod/Iphone and a notebook event means only one thing: Apple has some more 'new'products for us in January.

If they had nothing in the pipeline they would keep this for January.

I can't wait...

 While I like the look of the MacBook Pro I'm disappointed that Apple didn't offer an updated 17" model, no Blu-Ray DVD RW drive, no option for a HD display without gloss and didn't opt for a more logical dual SLI graphics GPU set-up using the same chip instead of using a slower 9400 GPU alongside a 9600 GPU. I for one will not be upgrading my MBP until Apple can release a MBP more suited to working professional artists and those that work in film/broadcast video that need mobility.

Nobody I know actually likes those new designs... I don't quite understand... The Imac looks awesome dressed like that because it has a different shape than notebooks, and I do agree these new macs look like standard HP / Dell noteboobs. Why using a black keyboard?

Did people at Apple change designers?

Because the 'IBook Clamshell Series' had much more sexy designs than these two new laptops have now...

What happened with simplicity, minimalism and aesthetics?

I don't agree... Their design are actually more simple and streamlined that the previous models... looks at the details... They are gray and black but the design is really different. Very Apple... The integrated strobing led, the trackpad, etc...

I find the design of the black glass display more appealing than the previous one with the huge border.

And the keyboard of the Macbook, Macbook Air and the news Macbook Pro is way better in feeling than the one from the 2002-2008 era.
