Steve Jobs is world's best-performing CEO - Harvard Business Review
Apple CEO Steve Jobs has been named the world’s best-performing CEO by the prestigious Harvard Business Review (registration required).
The publication conducted a study regarding 2,000 CEOs worldwide, choosing a sample group consisting of 48 nationalities from companies based in 33 countries.
Names including Jack Welch, Warren Buffett, Larry Ellison and Bill Gates didn’t make the cut, as the HBR only considered CEOs who took on the role between January 1995 and December 2007.
The publication notes that despite his ill health, Jobs soldiered on to lead Apple to further success, bolting an astonishing $150 billion onto Apple’s market cap by his efforts. He has delivered an average of 30 percent shareholder return annually since his return to the company he co-founded.
