Details are light on this one but we've got it through a very reliable source that Apple will indeed be releasing the long awaited spreadsheet application as part of iWork '08 tomorrow. It is supposed to be a "whole new way to work with spreadsheets."  Also noted were the tie-ins between iWork and the .Mac service that Apple provides for $99/year. In the past rumors have circulated about a Google Hosted agreement with .Mac and it isn't certain if Google Docs and spreadsheets will also be tied in.

Update: Macrumors is reporting on .Mac being down for tomorrow's event

Due to scheduled maintenance, .Mac members might be intermittently unable to access some .Mac services from 10 AM to 12 PM PDT on 08/07/2007. We apologize for any inconvenience.

'Charts' and 'Numbers' have been thrown around as names for the new application but our source was unable to confirm or deny the name of the product.
Personally we like Sheetz...

Wait, why is Pages plural and Keynote not? Apple is generally more consistent. I do think that Sheets would be a more appropriate name with the theme with which they're going. Pages, Keynote(s), Sheets.

and the name is...

probably charts or sheets. makes more sense, since there are typically more than just numbers in a spreadsheet.

regarding the need for an "s" in keynote: is english not your first language? a keynote speech refers to an entire presentation or talk, so why would it be plural? pages is plural because a single document in made up of pages. and regarding the need for consistency in naming their suite of biz products: are you serious? what does that buy you? will people not buy or understand the products if some are plural and some are singular? hardly. the most important things about a name is that people remember it, that it describes your product or reminds people of it in some way, and that it fits your overall brand essence. in apple's names tend to be pithy and plainspoken. macbook. final cut. iCal. keynote works just fine. and so will sheets, charts, or numbers...
