All record labels are populating to iTunes Plus as we speak...

It looks like our hunch was right.  Not only Sony, but Warner and Universal are slowly populating their iTunes with DRM free, high quality tracks.  No official word from Apple yet...but it is Tuesday.  Click here to see the goods.

Update: IT looks like the functionality has been removed.  But for how long?

I was just wondering earlier today what happened to the ability to upgrade your library. I don't recall seeing this feature since right after iTunes Plus started. Anyone know where to find it?

Oh, BTW, you're smugness is annoying as usual.

I love when you have good information, but I hate it when you play "I've got a secret..."

You mean your smugness, not you're.

Smug alert!

He meant you're smug. Are you from San Francisco?

The record labels finally realize that iTunes is the big boy and if they want to make money then they gotta play ball. Another win for Jobs!

Thanks for the link. Now I wish I could figure out a way to upgrade only certain albums. That doesn't seem to be possible.

Hmmm... is it worth it or should I just burn and rip the few albums I care about removing DRM from (to enable streaming over Simplify to my iPhone)?

I already upgraded all of my library before i saw your comment so i can't tell now but can't you just double click whichever songs you want to upgrade?

No, you can only do the entire library. It even says so in the iTunes Plus FAQ a few comments up. That's kinda weak, I think. You should just be able to hit the 'Buy Now' button and it figure out that you already own it and offer an upgrade option.

possibly the current economic crisis mounts a lot of pressure on the labels or they're already seeing sharp decline in sales and finally it's time to bow?

Please credit me for my screenshot

Hey 9to5mac, I'd love a credit for my screenshot. Thanks.

BTW, if you had written this story when I tipped you off on Saturday, the scoop would've been yours!

Particularly pathetic...

...seeing as how **anyone** with an iTunes account can/could have made the same screen shot with about 90 seconds of research on how to upgrade a library.

Anyone.....?

95

yeah...... maybe anyone who has the same exact playlist setup, the same number of unwatched Podcasts, the same number of Application updates, and the same exact song to upgrade! Anyone, huh....WOW!!!

What happened to one liner regarding Tablet news in the coming weeks. The text is where the Update now is.

iTunes Plus

The "Upgrade My Library" has been up for a couple months at least, it is nothing
new. Why it went down for awhile today, I have no idea. I have over 2000 iTune songs and none of them wanted to be upgraded to Plus when it went back up.

So much for "little hunches".
