There is a bit of a learning curve involved with learning the iPod Shuffle as you can see by Apple's KB article. We're sure it is worth it for those of you who are into it.

Can't you tell what track is playing by listening to the track? I'm baffled by the fact that the new shuffle still requires a usb cable to plug it in to a computer. Why not make it like the original shuffle that has the usb built in?

im not sure exactly, but maybe having the built in usb adds a little more weight or size, and Apple is trying to reduce as much as possible to make smaller.

it is built in. the sync cable is 3.5mm plug on one end, usb on the other.

Nice controls. Too bad I won't be using them unless there is an adapter for my headphones, and they also work on the ipod touch. That's what I need.

I agree. As "wonderful" as the default headphones are, they just don't work for me...constantly falling out when running or jogging. Which are the main times I use my iPod.

LOL though I suppose you could push the "play" button before the run, swap out headphones, then simply turn it off when done running. (PITA)

Apple create products that are new and exciting. How interesting would another small mp3 player with a play button on it really be.

If you want buttons get the nano. If you want tiny tiny tiny get the shuffle.

and if you want to use your own headphones Scosche are releasing a adapter with built in controls. Everybody wins.
