iPod Shuffle gets a price cut. Other iPods wait.
The iPod Shuffle got cut from $79 to $49. Then the Apple Store went down. Will the rest of Apple's iPod line also recieve some price cuts? Flash prices are cheaper - so it makes sense. Stay tuned!
Update: For now, only Shuffles are getting price cuts. 1Gb Shuffle, $49, new 2Gb Shuffle $69.

That would kind of suck if they dropped the prices of the Touch and Phone, I mean they just released the larger GB sizes two weeks ago with no price cuts...
Well, that's technology for you mate. If you waited until prices dropped to buy stuff then you'd never buy anything.
True, but it usually takes months for a price cut, not weeks. Remember how screwed over people felt when the Phone was cut by a couple hundred just two months after release?
Store is up again. No price cuts for the other iPod models.
Hang on, that means people in the UK are paying exactly double the price for the Shuffle right now.
Unfair.
flash was never as expensive as apple sells it for.
bet a 30$ shuffle would still make them a profit. sharks. love them though.
"new 2Gb Shuffle $69"
Um, where? Can't find it.
Looking at AU store, no price drop or new model yet ...
Oh, the new 2GB model is only mentioned here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/. It's not in the Store yet.
Please stop complaining of price drops. If you can accept the fact that technology is moving at an ever accelerating pace and that price drops can occur at anytime (days, weeks, or months), maybe you shouldn't buy these types of products.
Hmmm.... so that's Apple still making at least one product announcement every single week in 2008 (so far) - bodes well for the rest of the year!
/wonders if it would be wise to hold off purchasing new toys until December
Apple rules.
The largest capacity iPod nano has been 8Gb for almost 18 months now. I am slightly surprised they haven't given us a 16Gb model by now. (Yes, I suspect that the 3rd generation model maxed out at 8Gb so the 16Gb touch had larger capacity, but now that there is a 32Gb touch that surely no longer applies.
everyone knows that the ipods shouldnt cost as much as they do but the prices will stay up as long as people are willing to pay for the name ipod
