Wired re-re-re-confirms the iPods with cameras
In case you hadn't already been convinced that the new iPod Touches will have a camera, Wired is throwing their hat into the ring. The information was reported initially by HardMac (MacBidouille) and again by iLounge with a mockup. Then we saw some new iPod touch cases with camera holes in them.
Digitimes also reported that new Apple devices would have cameras of 3 and 5 megapixel varieties along the way.
Wired today reports the same cameras but also reports the iPod will have a built in mic:
A well-connected source tells us those rumors are on the money, and that Apple’s factories in China are already manufacturing iPod Touch models with integrated cameras and microphones. An Apple spokesman declined to comment when reached by phone.
If iPod Touches with cameras and microphones go on sale “in two to three months,” as our source expects them to (and which corresponds with our expected timeframe), they will transform the entertainment-oriented iPod Touch line into a voice communications tool wherever WiFi is available.
Of course, you know my thoughts on Apple re-entering the camera space. I'm also a big fan of using the iPod touch as a mobile phone and dumping AT&T which doesn't work in my town anyway. Is there anyone out there that doesn't believe there will be an iPhone with a camera come September?

I believe!
i dont.
Well seeing as the iPhone already has a camera, I'll bet ONE MILLION DOLLARS that it'll have one in September.
Of course it will! All Apps for every one! Plus Apple makes practically the same off a touch as an iPhone and people are more likely to replace their touch every year since it is so much less expensive to, so why not make it just as enticing? Also good call Chall...
Ultimate cell phone: iPod touch + Verizon MiFi
Apple would never do such a thing as to draw the line between the iphone and the ipod touch so close, I mean why not chuck the bluetooth in and your ready to go, the only thing missing from the ipod will be the 3G handset thingo. I don't think apple will go full out with this, its like saying that theyre gonna introduce a touch screen interface on the ipod video, i mean lol, its not made for that, they have something else fo you to touch. (Y) hhaaha lol. but srsly, think bout it, its comon sense. Itll just drop their iphone sales even lower, and besides, think about apple, when they want to make something, they make it, they dont add feautures to things that dont need it, like their decision to take away fire wire originally, because they didnt see it necessary.
nyways, how sxc is this ---> http://www.electronicpulp.net/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/apple-macbook-w... :S
see my point. lol.
the ipod touch 2g already has a built in bluetooth chip inside its activated with the 3.o software update
Is there anyone out there that doesn't believe there will be an IPHONE with a camera come September? Change iPhone for iPod touch.
And yes I think they will have cameras.
Adding a camera to the iTouch puts iPod at the same level as the iPhone. Why buy an iPhone if you hate AT&T and can get an iTouch that works exactly the same way as iPhone?
Why even sell the iPhone if there isn't anything to differentiate between iPhone and the iTouch?
and what about the GPS? it's still a big difference!
The iPod mills in China are hard at work as we speak, churning out next-gen iPod Touch testking 640-553 models with integrated cameras and microphones. This certainly jibes well with the tips they've received regarding both this device and a cam-equipped nano -- although they are still skeptical about the rumored OLED iPods. The article goes on to suggest that once you add a mic to the mix, all you need is a MiFi and the Skype application for "the iPhone experience" on Verizon's (or testking 70-642) network. Seems like an awful lot to go through just to avoid AT&T, but we suppose that it's good to have options.
