Why do the makers of these demo videos always include lousy soundtracks? ;-)
The response time difference in the UI is amazing. 4-5 seconds difference in loading the setup screen on the 2.0 seemed like an eternity; sometimes I was afraid my phone had crashed.
Need for speed aside, those wishing to unlock their phones via the Pwnage Tool may want to wait, as the Dev Team is advising a new baseband in the new firmware may be unlockable
useless Test ...
Would've been nice to see more than just Mobile Safari speed tests - UI testing etc.
Everyone talked about contacts being faster and I agreed for the first few hours after the update last night. I could definitely see a big difference. Woke up this morning and contacts back to having a very slow response time.
Those guys are terrible at using the touch screen. Anybody else notice that? Please... guys, don't demo iPhones anymore.
How about turning the TV off? And how about tapping the icons simultaneously so you can see the real difference?
Absolutely useless.
Agreed, this video is useless. What's with the stupid background audio? And there's no sync between when things are started. Video should at least be edited so that touches happen at same time so you can really compare things.
9to5... you *can* do better...
9to5mac - you rock. However this video most definitely does not. Going to upgrade now and see what happens. Wish me luck.
I don't know why you guys keep saying it won't take an age to backup before a sync. After upgrading, my backup still takes a ridiculous 45 minutes or so. And from what I've been reading in the forums, it's the same for lots of people. Has anyone at all gone from 20+ minutes to something like 1 or 2 after the update? That would truly demonstrate they addressed the backup issue on this update. Or is this based on someone going from 20 to 18, which could be just a normal variation from time to time?
I've got a 16GB iPhone 3G and it always takes 2-3 hours for it to backup. Thus, I don't backup very often. I was hoping that the new firmware would have fixed that but it still takes over 2 hours to do the backup, so I still don't backup very often.
