3G iPhone Spy picts?

These look like what we've heard the 3G iPhone will look like.  Our source says that the 3G iPhone looks "more like an iPod" and these certainly follow that.  However, they just have a photoshopped quality about them - start with iPod Touch then...

You know the drill...if they are still here in 24 hours...no 3G iPhone for you!

i think its a fake, current iPhone does not have 'iPhone' on the back of it... it looks sort of like a photochoped motorola phone that i can't quite put my finger on...

You must not own one, my friend. The current iPhone definitely says "iPhone" on the back.

I think it's a fake. It does bear a striking resemblance to a photoshopped LG Vu.

That phone definitely has the same profile as a Vu. What a great eye you have!

if that is what the new 3G iphone is made of, i am kind of disappointed. it already looks scratched up.

i love apple products but sometimes i wonder why they choose the materials they construct their hardware from.

the original nano scratched like crazy. the aluminum powerbook/mac book pros is really soft and dents/scratches easily. the current iphone chrome bezel also scratches very easily.

i guess we'll have to see if that's the real deal 3G iphone.

don't stress too hard, it's a fake. But as to your general point - i challenge you to develop a product that people are intended to pull in and out of their pockets 20 times every day that won't scratch. At least the screen on the iPhone seems to be completely impervious to damage, and that's pretty impressive to me.

yeah, this looks pretty fake....but I agree, this is probably what the new iPhone will look like..

kinda like your phatty iPods

Google the LG Vu.

theres one thing Apple does and thats create sexy products. This looks like something LG/Motorola etc would make.

close but no, it's missing the screws on the back to access the battery

It's too ugly -- so FAKE!

SAY NO TO TAPERED TOP AND BOTTOM. So....not Apple.

also, the Apple logo appears out of proportion.

I wouldn't buy it.

I don't believe these images are real, besides the fact within a month of every Keynote, mockups surface every-time , this product doesn't represent Apple.

Main reason, just look at the Top of the Phone,... it's Arched like Every-other Phone and Device out there... Except iPods, & iPhone. Apple isn't going to put an arch on the top and bottom of the phone. it looks cheep.
Apples devices are perfect in shape.

Plus, while i believe like everyone else the Phone will be black.. i have a feeling the Black will be similar to the Black on the back iMac. I could be wrong, but that's what i think.

PL

I agree its probably fake, but I actually like the size. I can see the back being black. I read that there was rumors of a few colors. I can imagine the new iPhone will look somewhat close to this though.

Uuurghhh!

Horrible and plastic-y. Unfortunately, this has all the features that have been rumored- thin metal bezel, black plastic back instead of alu/magnesium.

I have a horrible feeling about this. I vote real.

Ps- I bet it will be much lighter though!

I also noticed that the lower part of the back is slightly a different shade of black. Not that this is real, but that would make sense as the latest iPhone has the radio down there. Possibly different material.

that is the stealth iphone from colorware...FAKE.

If that does turn out to be the next iPhone it won't do very well... unless it has amazing features. If they make an iPhone out of plastic like that thats like going from Mac Pro materials to a black macbook... basically a downgrade material wise. I love my anodized aluminum back on my iphone.

i love how the phone is super imposed over an extended hand, these are two different pics. Probably the worst photoshop job i've ever seen.

On the note of the iphone 3G's different look, i'll be bummed if it's all black i love the brushed metal on the back.

DEFINATELY photoshopped
but it was done well
...
it sorta looks too small/narrow and i doubt that apple would put that small a border around the screen. even their ipods (classic/nano) dont have that small a border, and i think a border is necessary with a touch-screen phone.
i think that the unequal sized top and bottom of the phone, where the earpiece and the home button are, is distinctly un-apple, especially with it going into landscape mode for internet, videos, and coverflow. it would make it difficult to hold.
i also have to admit that the camera lense looks strange. if its larger because it has 5 megapixels, ok. but i dont think that apple wants to make the camera lense a major design on the back of the iphone.
i aslo would like to comment on the curved top and bottom edges. apple has set their ipods and iphones to fit in the universal dock, and the curved bottom would be a disruption.
also, whats up with the apple logo? is it supposed to look like its etched into the back, like its textured? and the information on the bottom of the phone looks a little too high up.
now, i am no apple expert, but apples redesigns tend to get sleeker and more sophisticated. i do not think they would switch to plastic for the entire device (no ipod is entirely plastic). possibly a plastic like the border of the ipod touch's screen, but no glossy black.
in my opinion, its a photoshopped lg vu, but it was photoshopped very well. but, i doubt this is the actual device.

by the way, i do plan on buying the 3g iphone as soon as it comes out.

I'm going to say that this is fake due to a gut feeling that I have. Apple can do better. They wouldn't just make it all black plastic like this. However, the design isn't entirely bad, and looks like it's a good starting point for something pretty nice. It does look way better than any of the other non-iphones on the market. Blackberries are just so ugly to me, and I've thought that for many years now. I was never motivated to get one, but I love my iPhone. Will I get the new one when it comes out? That really depends on how many new hardware features it has (4MP camera with flash, more memory, really fast 3G, better battery life), and the price. If AT&T will pay for half of the phone, I'll definitely resign up for a 2 year agreement and get one!

The apple logo is definitely flat while the phone is at an angle... that gives it away. but i don't even believe the rumors that the back will be plastic. Everything apple is doing is moving toward aluminum. The imacs are now metal. the first iphone was metal. the new ipod classics are metal. the new MB Air is metal. It wont be plastic. It will be brushed aluminum and maybe black like the black ipods. I'll bet money it wont be plastic.

The new iPhone will no longer have the top and bottom black bars.
The screen will fill the entire area.

i can't believe that some people are actually starting to believe that this could be the new iphone, im just gonna sum it up in one feature, LOOK AT THE SCREEN, IT'S NOT GLOSSY, IT'S BLURRY!! That is a tech spec in order to get the lcd touch screen, it has to be GLOSSY, and that one does NOT have any reflection, so fake my blind grandma could tell the difference miles away.

Hello all...
Well I'm in malaysia and yesterday at a certain 5-star hotel here, there was a girl (who looked like a business person) showing certain other businessly dressed people what appeared from the interface to be an iPhone (as in it was running the iphone OS, and it certainly wasn't an iPod touch). However, it was slightly differently shaped, it was a little thicker and the back was kind of black, it appeared similar to the back of this phone.

My point is that it appears Apple is now planning on marketing the iPhone as an unlocked product in certain countries where it does not want an exclusive contract, and Malaysia is probably one such country. That being the case, I don't beleive it is completely out of the realm of possibility that Apple is presenting the 3G iPhone to telcos here and the lady who was presenting the phone on Apple's behalf didn't really suspect anybody would think twice when she pulled it out discreetly in a 5-Star hotel lobby.

But anything's possible, you know? I guess I won't know the truth until the product's released but I'd say I'm about 60-70% sure that this was the 3G iPhone.

Just my 2 and a half cents.

BULL S#!T to that story about a Malaysian Woman showing off a unreleased product in another country. Apple would never allow someone to demo an unreleased product at a '5 star hotel' in some country, without mr jobs being present, especially in the presence of unlocked doors with someone like yourself being present.

3G - ya... we all know it coming. We all know, and we all want it.
I think this is one more classic example of an unreleased product that we know is coming, and right before the Keynote we get stories of people seeing it at parties, and then we even have poorly photoshopped mockups.

Lets face it with the 'spy pic'... when Steve Demos it for the public the first time, it will move you, you will fee the product will change your life, and make your life better. The design will be perfectly constructed, and the whole industry will once again study the perfection and try to catch up.

This plastic photoshopped picture is not an Apple Product.

I know nothing about LG phones and i can tell you it is a fake. Look at the overall angle of the unit then compare it to the angle of the apple at the top. the two are unaligned. So this is a photoshop job and a poorly thought out one at that. Also this unit looks like it has an inordinate amount of wear for a unit fresh off the presses.
Dontcha think?

But if my memory serves me correctly, Steve (granted, this is Steve Jobs and not a random woman in a hotel lobby) was seen using his iPhone at one of his kid's soccer games before it was released. I think there was a "spy shot" a few days before it came out. Before I get pounded on, I'll admit that I may be mistaken, but I seem to remember that...

LOL!

No one will see the iPhone till its introduced by SJ. Yes the iPhone is being tested out in the wild, but like most companies that like to keep things private they will dress up the product by painting it and changing its cover basically changing the look of what the original product will look like at the end.

But, till its introduced lets all keep on guessing and assuming so we can all continue to laugh, argue about all the comments and pictures posted. I mean why else are we here?
