Can anyone help this woman out?
Seems to be some confusion on the ol' Apple discussion forums:
Please help! I took my husband's i-phone and found a raunchy picture of him attached to an e-mail to a woman in his sent e-mail file (a Yahoo account). When I approached him about this (I think that he is cheating on me) he admitted that he took the picture but says that he never sent it to anyone. He claims that he went to the Genius Bar at the local Apple store and they told him that it is an i-phone glitch: that photos sometimes automatically attach themselves to an e-mail address and appear in the sent folder, even though no e-mail was ever sent. Has anyone ever heard of this happening? The future of my marriage depends on this answer!
Best Answer so far from Cutthru:
Its a glitch, but only happens if the pic is sufficiently raunchy.
Can anyone else help her out?

If the woman is still in doubt even though the husband is denying it, then the marriage is already ruined, no matter whether it's an iPhone glitch or his own.
When I turn it sideways, everything looks bigger.
Oh yeah! It's called the fidelity glitch. First dump your husband then forget about him and then it's all fixed.
yes i can confirm that it's indeed a glitch and the problem has been reported to apple.
looks like the husband did some snooping of his own! since you're reading this anyway, care to explain for us which glitch causes the phone to take photos of your junk?
Get a better husband - preferably one who's smart enough to delete from his sent items when he cheats on you (and maybe even smart enough not to take the damned picture in the first place).
The other day, my mom found a site called www.****-*-****.com (you don't think I would publish the URL, do you?)
Anyway, the site advertised itself as a way to find someone via a cell phone number. When my mom tried the site, it asked for a cell phone number to "track" someone. When she did, nothing happend, so she just gave up on the site.
A few days later, my parents had dinner with my brother and his wife. All of the sudden, my brother's wife thanked my mom for SENDING HER A PHOTO TO HER CELL PHONE of a man "doing" a woman on a car. Not knowing, my mom accidently sent that photo to a few people that she knew (I am still trying to figure out HOW....She did not type in anything to the site!) including myself.
I think the woman should investigate this more before accusing her hubby of doing something that he MAY NOT HAVE DONE.

I THINK DAN IS HER HUSBAND!!!
hahahah
Hahaha. Very funny!
Come on Dan! No Link, you're the husband. :p
... when you have a doubt, there is no doubt.
Of course he sent the picture. That's why it's in the SENT folder. *Rolls Eyes*
Your husband is sending pictures of his **** to other women. If he hasn't cheated on you yet, he's trying. Either way, it sounds like you both have issues. Him for being scum for doing that to you. And you for being an idiot if you believe that line of BS he's giving you about it.
Your marriage has no future. Have some self respect and divorce the jerk before it gets any worse. If you don't, I have no sympathy for you.
its called an ID-10T error, happens to a lot of people.
My iPhone is having the same problem...only in reverse. I get dirty emails sent TO my iPhone and somehow websites full or nude women appear in my safari favorites. I wander if these problems are related. Called Apple...no help.
What the heck was she doing taking her husbands iPhone and going through the sent emails. If my wife was the nutty I'd want to cheat on her too.
If he didn't do it, he would be bending over backwards to mend this. Chances are this isn't the first time he's come across as a me-first prick.
She needs to dump the douche.
Let him get what he wants. In a few years after a dose or two of papilloma and cheap wine, he'll wish he's chosen a better hobby. Like dental surgery. Something less painful.
Oh God, her husband is just digging himself into a deeper and deeper hole!
Check out these replies:
From Ericislame:
----
"Susan, it's most DEFINITELY a glitch. I've had it happen several times on my phone, as have my coworkers who use iPhones.
The reason the answers here have been so skeptical is just how rare photo use is with the iPhone, as well as the apps installed on the phone that would cause this. It has to be under very UNUSUAL circumstances that it can happen--yet it can and does frequently.
Please ignore any of the "troll" answers you're getting causing you grief. (You can find a definition of troll at www.urbandictionary.com )
Hopefully, this bug will be resolved in the next firmware update.

(and then one posted 20 mins after that one) by Judgment:

"This has definitely happened to me a couple times too. At first I thought it was just accidental with the phone being in my pocket and just jumping around, but since the first two times I have made sure I have locked it.
I don't really know how to fix it but its starting to worry me. My phone has already sent pictures to the girl I like, my grandmother as well as a buddy of mine. Thankfully none of them have been too ranchy. "

Lucky lythic can to the rescue!

"... and erikislame and Judgement are both your husband! Note that Judgement is a new user who registered just to respond to you.
The iPhone does not have this bug. Ditch the creep. "

I was bored so I did a search on ericislame (the account that wasn't just created to reply to this...). [Lol, who is the creepy stalking one now :P]
Look what he says in a message about someone asking how to delete a specific call/text contact history:
----
"me also wanting to know all these privacy workarounds (just in case)"
----
but just after he posted the deliciously hypocritical
----
"i would LOVE to hear a reasonable sounding protest as to how this was not for concealing some bit of info from someone else".
----
Hmm, this guy sure does sound creepy. Poor Susan :(
the woman doesn't really exist. the poster is just messing with people on the boards. look at the original post -- he/she makes the carnel mistake that any advice columnist looks for first: mentioning too much detail in the wrong areas. her main concern is about the glitch. yet she SO willingly volunteers extra info about the affair the nature of the photo just to entice readers... stuff most people probably wouldn't mention at all if they just want to know about the glitch. it's the kind of thing you write for attention, not for real help.
And she cant decide whether or not to beleive him?!
Wow. Now people are making up fake wife cheating stories with iPhones in them to get onto tech blogs? I think that is the single most pathetic thing I have ever heard of.
stupid flanders
If you spot å raunchy pic of me attached to this message then the glitch is confirmed.
Ok so let me this this straight:
Th person confessed to having raunchy picture, and of not emailing it to anyone. Even if there is a glitch, how does it make a difference. Would it be okay for the woman to stay with him if he did take the pictures and not emailed it to anyone.
I guess its the new age when having an affair is okay but emailing those pictures to anyone is grounds for divorce.... Nice!
