I love the iPod and the iPhone as much as any of you, but I don't see what you're laughing at. The iPhone has a ton of shortcomings. It does not work for everyone. It is hard to operate with long nails, it is hard to operate with gloves and so on.
Also, I think that a lot of people have the wrong idea about Apple usability. Sure, a lot of Apple's stuff is easy to use once you get used to it, but when you're not used to it it is real, real hard. My girlfriend recently got a macbook pro and together we tried to install skype. We both work with IT, we both have iPods and use iTunes every day. We both failed to install skype on a mac. Sure, once I had read about how to install programs on a mac it was easy, but when you're new to it, it is REALLY hard to understand. There is no text to explain it to you, just icons and an arrow and graphics are SO easy to misinterpret.
I think this was a good review that shows some of the shortcomings of the iPhone. A lot of them I am willing to pay the price for as the iPhone is very cool, but they are there.
I think the music player in iPod Touch and the iPhone is far inferior to old iPods. It is very confusing and hard to use. I think Apple have been a bit too much in love with their gyro and touch screen and have forgotten to make a simple and easy to use interface.
Ummm...what exactly is soooo hard about dragging an application from its installation .dmg to the Applications folder?
The webpage you download Skype from has 4 easy steps in the instructions, step # 3 saying: Drag the Skype icon to yourApplications folder.
The file that opens with the Skype app has a little picture showing you to drag the Skype application to the Applications folder.
If you can't figure that out, you're either just trolling and slamming Apple for attention, or you're too dumb to use Macs; go back to PCs and enjoy your crashes and bloated install processes.
