Some mysteries are hard to solve. Some are easy. The "will Rakatu VoIP service work on iPhone as the company states?" falls into the "easy" category. The answer for the moment is NO.
How did we come to this conclusion so fast? BECAUSE THEIR IPHONE PAGE IS IN FLASH. We shit you not. Take a look.

Someone didn't do their homework - even a little bit - like testing it once. Hope this doesn't sour anyone to the VOIP thing. It should be be done - it has to be done!! - and hopefully soon.
As for Raketu, Suggestion: go buy yourself an iPhone and give it a whirl before you release it on your site stating that it works.
UPDATE: We've gotten an email from the company pasted below. They realized the error of their ways. Still doesn't work on iPhone however...

Well yes it's rather lame,
Well yes it's rather lame, however if you turn off flash then it gives the option to go to a non flash version of the page.
It actually works in html
It actually works in html mode, and the flash is probably there 'for the future', though it's useless as first gen iPhone won't see flash due to it's low CPU spec (400MHz)
Well, the Nokia N800
Well, the Nokia N800 Internet Tablet has 320 MHz CPU and runs Flash on linux just fine...
yeah the regular site
yeah the regular site doesn't work either. Total wash

My job is software validaton, so you know that I'm flabbergasted right now. How could you not have validated the software on the actual device?
Their response seems to
Their response seems to suggest that even though they have made the HTML version the default now, they still think that SOME iPhone owners actually do "have a flash".
Which tells me that they don't understand the iPhone, not even a little. Or it's for future iPhones, and they know something we don't.
Hey, isn't there a SDK for iPhone webApps out there already? Yeah, I know the native SDK isn't till January, but the webApp SDK is already out, no? maybe someone can send them a link to where they can download that.
Or its because there is a
Or its because there is a homebrewed flash plugin out there... and the flash version worked on mine with the plugin

It doesn't work on iPhone at all - not even the non flash version. Sorry if we offended you
No kidding... you think they
No kidding... you think they could actually review the service and say a little about it rather than just bash it. So from how it looks to me they only enabled phone to phone calls. ie. you give them two numbers and they call them both and connect them. Which is great for those of us that make international calls and don't want to pay insane international rates, but you'll see be using US airtime. So it's a nice service but not the holy grail call via web to phone service most people have been waiting for. Still great for international though.
They could do nothing but
They could do nothing but bash it because, as they have said before, it doesn't work on the iphone. period. Now, i don't have an iphone so i can't try it for myself, but if 9to5 says even nonflash doesn't work, its hard to whip up something positive to say about the program.
