What happened to all of the iPhones?
Looks like O2 isn't the only one running out of iPhones. The US Apple Store is out of iPhones too. Does this mean that the 3G iPhone is coming this week? Probably not. It does mean that Apple hadn't anticipated the current demand of iPhones in certain areas (the US). Still expect the 3G iPhone to be announced at WWDC and to ship at the end of June.

Can you people wait exactly one month for a new one? lol
This is all part of The Steve's master plan. He knows exactly what he is doing.
I think most of us will agree that a new device is coming soon, and hopefully this is a result of unexpected demand as foxconn transitions to producing the new handset. Foxconn did get the rumored contract for the new one, correct?
Clearly, Apple did not want to run out of phones for any amount of time. It may have wanted to clear out the channels a bit, but to sell no product for several days is a bad financial practice.
There is no way that Apple substantially mis-estimated the amount of iPhone sales in April/May, and it is hard to image that there is a component supply problem, given the past year of reliable production.
Instead, given all the rumors, I suspect that Apple was just a few days pessimistic in terms of clearing out inventory in preparation for a new device, and so now they have no phones for a couple of days.
I suspect that a new iPhone will emerge next week, and sales will flow once again.
apple quite often take a less profitable route if they see it as a long term gain for any reason, such as hype. Look at their secrecy stance and the amount of contracts they loose because of it.

SJ is creating a demand to the iPhone 3G making people waiting for it. He knows, people that wanna buy an iPhone wont buy another phone cause it's out of stock, they will wait
