Some iPhone 3G S specs revealed

TMobile's Dutch site has revealed some iPhone processor specs, below:

This is the first revelation that the iPhone now has 256MB of RAM.  Also, the 600MHz chip is likely the Samsung S5PC100 ARM Cortex A8 (link to our past evaluations of this processor).  If the speed was simply megahertz, the new iPhone would only be 1.5 times as fast (400MHZ to 600MHz).  This is a new class of processor which we've been talking about over the past few months.

Has anyone seen the iPhone Guided Tour ? In the video, when the guy points out "speed", he actually shows how fast app launching is on the 3G S, and my word, it screams !

Phil Schiller also mentioned that "upto 2x" were actually benchmarked against the iPhone 3G running FW 3.0 (which already makes it faster than 2.2.1).

With 256MB RAM, its bye-bye to low-memory crashes ! I'm sooo happyyy ! :-D

Enjoy your new iPhone Gorilla, while the rest of us wait until December to get our hands on the 3G S because of greedy ... @ AT&T

Translation:

I agreed to accept a legally-binding contract with AT&T. They gave me $200 off a phone if I signed up for a two year service agreement. I felt it was a good enough deal that I signed up for it.

Now, I want to abandon my agreement with them, and have them give me another $200 off a new phone with a new two year service agreement. I could just back out of my existing agreement with them by paying a $200 fee, but I don't want to. I am greedy. I WANT a new iPhone, and I want it despite of what I agreed to. However, instead I'd like to blame AT&T, as they forced me to sign up for it - I was under technology envy duress.

Exactly!

So if we wait until December to upgrade, doesn't that mean that we wouldn't be able to get the next iPhone next Summer (2010) because we would be using our upgrade this December?

Ding ding.

Luckily I live in Denmark where it's illegal for mobile carriers to tie customers for more than 6 months, so I'm already out of my iPhone 3G (Got it this Christmas) contract and 100% ready for the 9th of July when the 3GS hits Denmark!

Without ever trying AT&T's service I must admit it seems rather embarrassing what they're doing to their costumers. And I say that with "American way" in my mind; normally in Europe we look in awe at how awesome the costumer relations are between corps and the consumers, not to mention how snappy the market develops from one day to the other -- In Denmark we can't even rent movies or tv-shows via iTunes yet!! Kinda gives you an idea of what we're facing.

Yet in Denmark 90% of the country has 3G and if the recent post about a part of Manhattan just getting 3G NOW seems embarrassing too.

In the US, there are few government-mandated restrictions regarding contracts between two private parties. Competition between carriers is supposed to keep them in check.

I Denmark (Most of Europa) the govement knows that big companys will just screw over the consumers. So they have given them guiding lines.
They are allowed to bind consumers for less period of time if they like (some do)
EU are also making a rule on how mutch tele compernys made charge for roming.
They are not breaking free compatetion, they are just protecting the consumers, so they do not have to pay 2000% of what there service realy cost.

In the UK we can only get an iPhone on O2, which has the worst tariffs I have ever seen, so we are scrooooed over by what you can buy.
Vodafon have already abolished roaming charges but that doesn't help us O2 users
What we need is another network to be allowed the iPhone and create some competition!

9 Juli? Det lyder dejligt! Var bange for der ville gå længere tid! Puh! Made my day!

I agree. AT&T's service seem ridiculous

So, now I can right my snarky comments quicker.
